well ,hi all!
i registered this forum cuz something weird is goin' on my system
the story :

i had a pc that was consisted from :
CPU : P4 3.2 LGA 775 (Prescott)
M/B : msi 925XE Neo platinum
RAM : 1gb RAM (@533Mhz)
PSU : noname 525 Watts
VGA : ATI radeon x700pro
...so i experienced some problems in fps with some games and decided to change the vga and buy a new one!
this was the : Sapphire ATI x1950pro (512gddr3)
but continued to face the same problems (low fps)
so i checked the system requirements of the card and realised that my psu didn't gave enough power on 12V line to supply the card (gave 24A but vga needed 30A )

and bought a new one : Tagan TG600 U-25 Dual Engine

but i STILL face the probs...so i have spent 260 euros and didn't get any results!!!what should i do?

PS1. the psu has four 12v linesthat makes 20A each and 56A combined.
i just see two connectors for pci-e though and don't know what to do to "combine" them and get above 30A
PS2.as you understood i'm newbie in these so i need help
PS3. excuse my english if you find any mistakes .... :)

Did you install the latest ATI drivers when you installed the new card?

and have you checked the motherboard drivers are installed correctly ?

might even be worth using a video driver cleaner to remove all old drivers before installing new ones

yes, installed the ccc 7.11(the latest)!
when removing them followed the directions from the official ATI site...

how should i check the mobo drivers?all work fine so i guess they're alright!

you need to verify the pci-e slot is working @ full speed [8x or 16x usually] I think cpu-z or gpu-z will verify this

everyone has neglected the obvious question - what games are running slow and what settings are you using in those games.

Your cpu is not an overly powerful chip in today's market, most new games (crysis for example) are stressing even the high end of current cpu and graphics. So considering this if you are trying to play new games you will struggle with your current set up.
Sorry if it seems that what I am saying is harsh but its the situation a lot of users are now in.

EDIT: plug in one of the pcie cables into the card and one into the psu, it should be able to give the 30A as standard

i just tried cpu-z and my MoBo works fine the pci-e 16x slot!!

well , i'm trying to play World of Warcraft , i don't think that's this specific game needs so much cpu power ...
and internet connection works fine(no lag )
something that i didn't mention : my RAM is 1gb (2x512 , duall channel enabled)
shall i try one more gb?

psg501 what do you mean?of course i connected one into the card , the other one is loose as i don't have another card to put it in!

world of warcraft likes ram, try more ram (personally 1gig is below what I would say is minimum of 2GB)

As to my cable comment - it wasn't very clear. One cable plugged into psu and gpu, not 2 cables :D.
