The reason I've questioned the year in the thread title, is because I'm not 100% sure it's accurate, due to what's said in the first sentence below?
Given that there are those who were hoping to see the new chipset released in "just a couple of weeks", I'd have thought "December" would suggest next month/December 2007?
But if it is being released in December 2007... why suggest in the article heading, that the release date has slipped to 2008 :confused:
Anyways... here's what The Inquirer (http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2007/11/05/780i-slip-slides-2008) has t' say on the subject:
Those of you expecting to get your hands on the nForce 780i in just a couple of weeks, can go and make yourselves another few cups of tea. The release date has been put back until December.
Those in the know suggest that the issue is with Intel's new Penryn processors.
780i might work with everything currently on the market, but a few bugs have glitched the chipset's compatibility with 45nm parts...
