A British start-up has launched a new set-top box that combines PVR functionality, with a Linux-based PC.
The BabelTV features two integrated Freeview tuners, that can be used to record television shows on the box's 160GB hard disk.
It includes standard PVR features, such as the ability to pause live television and record every episode in a series.

The box also comes with a wireless keyboard, allowing users to take advantage of the PC functionality from the sofa.

The Xubuntu Linux-based system comes pre-loaded with software such as Open Office, Firefox and a VoIP application.

The device will go on sale from 6th November, priced £295.
For more details - and a video demonstration, see the company's website (http://www.babel.tv/).

Eh

Did you click on the link I provided to their website? Freeview is one of the five highlighted features on the front page there!?

BabelTV not only allows you to view all the FreeView channels...

Eh?

Did you read what I posted?

What good is a PVR that has two Freeview tuners when I can't actually receive Freeview.

As I already said....no thanks...I'll stick with my TiVo.

Well you should have said something along the lines of 'Having two digi freeview tuners is no good if there is no freeview reception where I live'

If person B doesn't understand what person A has said, who's fault is it?

Enjoy your Tivo

There was nothing wrong with what I said, it was somebody else's mis-interpretation.

Enjoy your Tivo
