Anyone Having Problems With This Board And 4gb Ram...sometimes Itsd Fine For Ages, Then It Wont Boot...then Itsa A Nightmare Getting It To Boot...


Any Ideas, Links To Beta Bios...

At the Asus website when you look up the bios files for your board, on the lower left hand side is a link to a forum about your board.
There are MANY P5K boards so make sure you choose the correct one.
Do NOT use the bios update through windows!

Try using memtest for a few hours and see if you get any errors????
update to the latest firmware of the bios? if you have recently then try downgrading to an older version as the new one may be causing the problems

be sure to get your timings right, the p5k can be a real bitch with alot of memories and timings, if the timings are still on auto, it tends to get fuzzy too (experience with a mates two p5ks, one P5K-E and one P5K-CE or something, or CS not sure.), if that fails try changing your memory voltage too?

what brand of memory are u using ???

im running vista premium with this board ,c2q q6600 (not G0 stepping )
and 4x1g of ocz mem with no problems
vista only registers 3324mb but ive had no problems and find my pc runs much faster than when xp was installed
