nice find i didn't think it was out till 12pm 2moro due to the 24hour access thing :D downloading now
just a quickie, ati-tool 0.27 WILL NOT work with the beta drivers for all of you who use it to overclock is simply crashes when it starts.
there is no way i am installing rushed out BETA drivers just to play a demo, IMHO they should have prepared and optimised it more before releasing it.

THAT IS AN AWESOME GAME. Loved the suit functions especially stealth and strength I killed all enemies just using punch. except the ones in the damn jeep turrets :(
Yeah pretty decent, I'm gonna buy it after I upgrade or buy a new rig :)

when i try to install the exe It just doesn't do anything....and nothing responds, i cant even ctrl + alt + del which is ghey.

its extracting large files into a temp folder in the background but it totally disables your PC. you just have to wait. at least thats what usually happens with those large compressed Installers

I re-downloaded it and it worked, but its a bit annoying how it does literally disable your computer completely, however i've had a chance to install it now and its a really fun thing to play, didn't get to play long but it seems fun to be able to punch people really far away heh.
ok so i forgot about installing those beta drivers, i haven't seen any problem with my current ones?
(the latest whql i believe) anyone tried both/noticed a difference?
i can't stop shooting trees!! hehe

I re-downloaded it and it worked, but its a bit annoying how it does literally disable your computer completely...
What you should do in future then, is de-compress any such files first, by right-clicking them, and 'extracting' the compressed files into the same folder in which you downloaded the original file.
I use WinRAR meself, and when I right-click on any compressed file, I'm offered various options - such as 'Extract here'/'Extract to...' etc.
Subsequently... when I open the setup file, it can continue with the installation without delay ;)

well when they're named crysisdemo.EXE i tend to think they're executable so i don't extract them....surprisingly ;)
doesnt matter now anyway, it's intalled and working fine.
The EXE uses something similar to Fileplant when they package games inside a single EXE file, it usually locks the PC up for 10mins. winRar wont help with that.

I found a glitch :) I ended up running around with multiple arms but I forgot to take a screenshot..... Was great holding 4 pistols at the same time :D

Wow, looks good. Far Cry all over again, really, but with a few nice tweaks. Plays well and only slowed up on a few bits with lots of objects, like up at the small 'base' where you download the intel (1680x1050 at all medium settings on a C2D 1.86GHz and 8800GTS) so can't grumble. Plays nice; I like it!
btw guys open the level editor and spawn yourself some kickass weapons law, and tac launchers are great for slowing down those re-inforcements lol
pesky boats be no more with a TAC up there rear end!!

how do you open the level editor?!
I installed it "sandbox" but theres no shortcuts anywhere, lol I know i'm just being silly but I just can't seem to find it.
theres an editor exe in the bin folder i think thats where i found it. its in there though. :) its brilliant

argh!!! my comp is tooo slow to play this demo :( i tried and after trying to stop the game ( i had to do the 3 finger salute) to kill the game! now my colours are slightly screwed!!! my yellows and greens are very bright! and i can't dull them down! lol!!
but even in LOW mode it's looks great! :D

took me a while to find and work it out.....
First install this:
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Sandbox2 Installer
Then open using this
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Cryek\Crysis SP Demo\Bin32\editor.exe
I also found the gpu and cpu test and in the cpu one you can use the rocket launcher :D

Start off by going to File > Open, then selecting Game/Levels/island/island.cry
That'll load up the level used in the demo. It'll look very complicated with lines and entities everywhere, but ignore those for now. Have a look at this guide (http://www.cryengine2.org/sandbox-tutorials/basics/navigating-the-view-port/) for help on navigating the interface.
You'll soon find it feels very intuitive! In order to "drop in" to the game as it were, all you need to do is press Ctrl+G. That'll spawn you where the editor camera is currently positioned (so don't do it too high off the ground!)
Some fun things you'll want to do:
Vehicles:
On the right bar, first tab, click "Entity"
Double click on the "Vehicles" folder.
Select a vehicle (not all of them are in the demo).
Left click to place it somewhere on the ground. Once you've placed it, if it's underground or something, press "1" to go into movement mode, then press ctrl+shift+left click on the floor - this will align it with whatever you clicked on (very handy for placing anything, actually).
(you should also explore the other folders... particularly the "environment" one if you want to play with tornados!)
Fun with explosive barrels:
I actually couldn't work out how to make these from scratch, but you can easily copy an existing explosive barrel and play with that. All you need to do is go into select mode (press "4"), click on a barrel, go back into movement mode ("1"), then press Ctrl+C to make a copy, move the mouse and click where you want it. It'll align to whatever axis is highlighted so it might take a few tries to get the hang of it.
If you want a good time, spam a load of explosive barrels in one place, shoot one, and watch them all chain bang in a gigantic explosion ripping up trees and sending bits of walls and cars flying in all directions. :D
You can use this method with most (all?) objects, but some might be triggered not to appear at certain times (like jeeps and soldiers), so bear that in mind.

another fun thing to do is copy around 200 soldiers into one spot then put a 4 barrels around them, ctrl+g and blow up one of the barrels :D
Holy hell, that tac tank is mad, take about masive deforestation.
Nukes here I come.

erm I can never make people properly, every time I make them and them they don't appear physically I just get a picture of a little man, then when i go to play the game they're invsible because if i cross my cross hair over them it shows them as there, and its not because they're cloaked. hmm lol.
Cries.......When loading the Game/Levels/island/island.cry i just get loads of Errors:(

so do I but doesn't seem to effect game performance if you read the error list I think its is just the things they have left out of the demo
ignore the errors, close that box and continue editing, btw which item is the tac tank in entities? lol
i spawn a tac launcher (for hands) but thats not what i would call the full yeild nuke tbh
btw you can also edit and muck about with the MP map :D which is awesome, try it at night!! its AWESOME
also if you set it to midnight, then set the hdr to its lowest setting you get pure pitch black world which is amazing :D night vision is a requirement but the hdr inside building and stuff is just stunning!!
i can only imagine doing that with things like nightvision removed, sneaking around the map..
explosions look superb in this darkness, showing how well they light the surroundings!
imagine being on your own in pitch black a grenade goes off and you see like a whole team of soldiers.. ah its great !! actually i havent tested a nuke at night yet that will be my next port of call!!
god damn i cant wait for this game! editing the maps that are already there for things like night missions and midnight mayhem is gonna be SO easy :D
