OK, so I got Kustom to add it here (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_1455.html) but anyone brave enough to test it ??

Seems to be ideal but google does not return a great deal for use in UK...

First of all, hi everyone.

I'm about to purchase an Infill G4 for a mercedes vito, toyed with the idea of carPC for years but only recently have had the finances. To start with it's gonna handle mp3, satnav, cellphone and rear view camera. May add more later but for now I want it uncluttered & hence as fast & reliable as possible.

Need a bit of advice though;

Win XP pro- most fuss free and will allow me to avoid going online to register right? comp will have no communications to start with.

Interface- People recommend Centrafuse, what does this offer over the bundled interface?

Cellphone- Other than a bluetooth stick what else will I need?

Satnav- plenty avaliable, recomedations for the most reliable & convenient?

TIA, Ben. Will let you know how it works...

Right if you own a telephone.

At the activiation screen you select activate over the phone, and based on your lisence key, it generates a bastorially long number, that you into the phone and then you're given an equally bastorially long number back, tap that into the activation screen and it'll activate without an internet connection.

It's best to order the OS with the computer. Kustom sell both Windows XP and Vista OEM.

It looks a lot more user friendly and more customizable.

I was going to say that Kustom are selling two ready built setups now but just looked and there is now only one ready built one... When they had two setup it was clear that they included UK/ Europe maps which I do not believe the barebones kit does.

Anyway Kustom did say they would be selling pre-built kits with Centrafuse, bluetooth and UK/Europe maps soon. Might be worth contacting them for more info

I'll ask them to quote to spec shortly. Vans not gonna be here for 2 months yet, only just ordered it.

Been scanning the centrafuse forums, seems to be a couple of issues relating to the G4.
