You can install an OEM copy of windows onto another computer but you must remove it from the first computer before you built your new computer or after you have copied all your data across.

Well okay then, NO unless you buy another copy of Windows for the first computer :p
i believe the answer is no.. isn't the OEM non-transferrable?
if so, you can't transfer it to another PC. once the original PC dies.. then XP installation dies with it.

thats vista, XP should be transferable, or at least, it used to be. as i have used mine on new builds when upgrading.
Agree with Chenks, OEMs are licensed to the build not the person and non-transferable. Retail is transferable as long as it is removed from the initial install

I have transfered my OEM install from one computer to another with no problems.

Vista is pretty stable for a lot of hardware by most accounts. But - on the other hand - it can go desasterously wrong. So it's a bit of a mixed bag really...but it wont hurt to give it a go.

If you check your hardware first, then decide if you actually can get Vista Drivers.

Most modern printers/scanners/graphics cards have vista drivers available by now ;).

ALWAYS pays to check - especially if computers are involved!
Bit like measure twice, cut once!
