i tried washing a few tshirts (all dark colours) in my washing machine. I looked at the instructions. they were all cotton shirts. anyway it didnt have a temperature on the label. other than wash inside out and ok for washing machine. so i set it to the lowest setting...30, and set it to cotton.

its washed it well but i found that the applique (i.e. the badging, or motif) has cracked slightly. Quite dissapointed as these were all new shirts. i know it does happen but is there anyway to avoid that?

ive been told that washing machines can use cold water wash instead of hot. dont know how to do that. any ideas?

perhaps im better off washing cotton garments by hand next time.
i wish they'd mix it polyester in clothes as that really is great stuff as it reduces colour bleed, stops strinkage and garments last much longer than 100% cotton.

Is this the first laundry-related thread on the forums?

All "plasticy" t-shirt graphics crack eventually. If yours split on the first wash, they must be fairly cheap 'n' nasty.

I'm reminded of that old "skinhead" Persil ad:

"I'll wash it myself. D'oh! Muuuuuum!"

they wern't cheap. i mean they were headworx branded. ok...100% cotton.lol..maybe they are just cheap then.
Not had a problem before on cotton-poly blended garments. i'll be more careful in future on cottons. its cold water washing only on those in future.
