Hey guys, i have been riding around on my stepdads bike for to long. (it sucks)

and after riding down the street and my chain snapping and seat falling off all at once means my bikes not running to well.

Basicaly i dont know much about the whole bike scene any more.

What im after is a dirt jumping kind of bike (i love the look of the dirt jump frames), with a pretty small frame and small wheels around 24 inches, suspension front forks, no gears (BMX style single gear) and only a rear brake (rim brake as there lightest). i want my bike to be as light as pos yet strong.

I have around £300 odd to spend.

i still have forks from my old bike which i can use untill i have money for new ones. i also have some 24 inch weels which i can use aswell. altho there not great.

Any help would be great thanks

Sounds like you need a trials bike! I'm no expert on them though so wait for Brumster or a few others to see the thread! They know their stuff

Not really up on my dirt jump frames but, as per the other post, I recently built myself a jump/DH-framed bike as a bit of fun (details here (http://knobblies.blogspot.com/2007/02/another-steed-for-stable.html)). It was more than £300 but was primarily all new bits, bar the frame. It's not single speed, so that would save some cash for sure. It's 26" though, not 24".

"Lightweight" and "dirt jump" aren't two things that typically go together as the frames need to be sturdy buggers to stand up to the rigours of being thrown about, but once you've got rid of all the associated guff for changing gears and braking, they still wouldn't turn out massively heavy.

Might be worth looking around the various online forums (MTBR, Singletrack, BikeMagic) for tips/suggestions?
