Because not everyone is a fan of Internet Explorer :)

IE7 seems pretty sound so far. Not had any issues with it (touch wood).

only one problem! you can't switch tabs if you have a password box pop up in IE7. Is it the same in FF?

Ie7 seemed to crash every 10 minutes (well, more than IE6 anyway) when I used to use it. My sister has problems with it too (but then, her PC is one big problem, I am forever fixing something or other lol

Yeah. That annoys me. :)

Why does a 64 bit OS need a different edition of firefox? I thought it just applied to drivers n stuff.

this is what i'm confused about... firefox works for me on vista no probs...

i was purely going on the actual post.. there are a million reasons to install alternative browsers to ie7 as shipped with vista.

i dont understand the 'has a no need to install' bit.. apart from not making a readable statement, it also makes no sense in english as well as no sense with regard to installing an alternative browser...
