Hi

I wonder if someone can help me....

I have a new version of winzip that I need to deploy on our office network.. I understand one way of doing this is to include a script in the logon script the office has inplace so when each user logs in the installation starts..

Could you point me in the right direction as to what I need to put in the logon script so the winzip installation install to each local machine with auto setup so that no user intervention is neede ....

Thanks very much

Regards

Tim

if you have an active directory domain, then you could package the application into an MSI file and then deploy it to the PCs. you wouldn't need to manually edit the logonscript.

you would just add the application to the users account or usergroup and it would auto install.

this, of course, is assuming that you have an active directory domain and a standard client desktop.

sounds good mate

I do have an active directory domain. If you have a spare 5 mins I would be very interested in how I would package it into an .msi file... Its new territory for me...

Many thanks

Active directory is the way we deploy as much software as we can here at school (im network manager) you can as far as i know download a MSI packanger of the net somewrre, and then simply link it to a GPO, and it will install, if you need help then just ask ive got laods of pages in my favourites from when i started working here (2 years now) that should help you.

Sorry about any spellings, dyslexic!

Hi Betty02

Thanks for your reply.. I would be very interested if you could send me some of the favorites you have so I can browse through them....

I will look into this MSI packager you mentioned and see if there is a good one on the net I can get my hands on...

Kind regards

Tim
