Being bottle fed by a young attractive nurse or being spanked by a young attractive nurse. I like your thinking Slamdog

In a world where people are going up faster and faster each generation, being bottle fed up to 10 years old is just ridicules.
As things go, when the kid steps out of line you smack them. Shouting at them only works on some people but in the end it's just words and not actions. Works on my cousin, if he's naughty someone will normally pin him down.

I dont see a problem with spanking your kids if they need it. Bottle feeding at that age is just beyond belief...what are they trying to create, kids that need their **** wiping for them...food cut, drink poured down their throats!!!!
stupid country is going down hill by the bloody day!

WTF?! That is just stupid.
But as for hitting children, that is definitely wrong and I am glad most people find it wrong and I think it should be illegal, is, like it or not, it IS child abuse.

Then you should be mighty glad you're growing up in this day and age!
It's been said by almost every one of the older members on these forums (the likes of myself, Alan, Slam', Tami), that a clip around the lug'ole, or a skelpit er$e, never did us any harm.
We didn't think any less of, or disrespect our parents because of it.
Quite the opposite in fact. It helped us learn the difference between right and wrong, +/or what was acceptable, and what wasn't.
I never actually laid a finger on my two lads, in all their years of growing up... but that was because I never had to... not because I regard it as cruel.
I just looked at them in a certain way, and they knew they were in trouble!
I subsequently took them up to their bedrooms, and had a heart-to heart/dad-to-son talk with them, after which they always recognized the error of their ways, and subsequently apologized to both myself and their mum, and never repeated the 'offence'
Or at least they never got caught repeating the offence - so at least they learned something :p
I'm not condoning cruelty to children (i.e the horrific sort you sometimes read/hear about in the media. That is genuine cruelty  ).
But IMO... a clip around the lug'ole, or a skelpit er$e, are not cruelty.
They're nothing more than reminders to stay in line/abide by the rules - of both the house, and society ;)
Too damn right Fireblade...
Clip round the ear... a damn good leathering.....
Even the copper turned round when my dad give me a whack in the cells when i was 17. Do I hate my dad or the police? Do I heck... I never nicked from cars again, and everything else I just got better at not being caught.
I think the public humiliation of a flogging or stocks would be far more effective than banging youths away so the street cred goes up... chain em in public for 24 hours where you can throw rotten veg at them or let your dog pee on the trackies.. see if they wanna be antisocial after that....
.

Couldn't agree more! this is the problem nowadays, Kids know they are untouchable in Schools ( I reckon that Teachers should be allowed to administer a clip on the earhole ) and in society.... I can remember my Headteacher having a cane in his Office.... it was never used but it reminded anyone who ended up in there what it was used for.
I can remember the Headmaster at my Primary used to punch me on the arm not because I was naughty, I used to struggle with the work sometimes and that was the punishment, he'd belittle you in front of your classmates than you'd get hit in front of them, I was only 9... my arm ended up covered in bruises, now that was cruel and uncalled for, used to get bullied because of it, the Kids saw the Teacher treating me badly and thought it was ok for them to do it too... it stopped after my Dad threatened the Headmaster....we were never hit at home, we never needed it, my dad thought that because he didn't hit us, no-one else had the right to hit us either...
I'm not sure but I think the guidlines have changed on physical punishment, i'm sure that anything that doesn't leave a mark and is on the softer bodyparts ie the legs and bum is acceptable.... you need to use your common sense, punching, kicking drawing blood and beating is cruel, a sharp slap does no harm...
Like Fireblade my Kids have never been hit, we've never had too, I don't even shout the tone of my voice is enough for them to know I mean business.

dont be so damn ignorant, when u get your own kids you will know that a good spank never did anyone any harm and especially when they deserve it!

One of my mother's old boyfriends used to hit me and my sister (who was about 6 at the time), he was kicked out so fast after the third time when he actually hurt me fairly badly, IMHO people who beat their children are unable to control them and are not fit parents, this is why so many people are shooting each other on the street, because they had a violent past at home. That school do not have the answer, but neither does anyone who hits children, and that particular boyfriend of my mother's is so lucky I have never seen him since or I would give him a good kicking TBH.

You are a complete and utter plonker, someone beating people is completely different to spanking a child who has been bad/abusive etc. There is nothing wrong with spanking a child who has deserved it, hitting for hittings sake is completely different, maybe you should learn to differentiate between them!
I will come to Jacobs defense.
First, calling someone who was abused a plonker is not very nice, he was getting what his moms boyfriend thought was punishment and thats why Jacob feels the way he does about this subject.
I understand his feelings, my mother beat me when she thought I needed it, the problem was she thought I needed a beating almost daily and since she was small a belt or stick was allways the norm.
To this day I understand that a parent may think his child needs a whack however if it was done in my presence I might react before thinking and beat him to a pulp.
Some kids might need a whack to get them on the right path I agree.
I was so sure I did not want to make that decision that I made sure I never had kids of my own and never sat for anyone elses.
Who decides when punishment turns into abuse?

I think the Govt is at fault for the slippery slope the country is now on, and has been on for the past 10 years or so. They have intervened in matters they should keep out of, e.g. slapping a child. I know i got it, and it didnt harm me mentally or physically.
me me me! i was caned in high school, and slippered in junior school....
I learnt how not to get caught after that.....
as for the hitting kids.. as long as it doesn't mark them.... so a rubber hose to the kidneys is fine...
