Hello,
I have purchased Club 3D X1950PRO 256MB PCI-E video card and guess what, it doesn't work as i've suspected. It gives me weird artifacts on 3d stress programs like 3dmark and games like oblivion. I tried to change drivers (with driver cleaner), but nothing helped.
I suspect that my PSU is not good enough. Mercury Kobap4400xa

Voltage
+3.3V 28A
+5V 40A
+12V 17A
220W|204W
380W
Current
-5V 0.3A 1.5W
-12V 0.8A 9.6W
+5VSB 2A 10W

I read somewhere that x1950 requires 30A on 12V rail. Could this be the reason why i get artifacts or its just a faulty card? But the strange thing is that i don't get any black screens or restarts. Everything is stable and temperatures are very good. Haven't OC'ed the card.

Should i RMA it or buy a new PSU?

Well the PSU is likely to possibly give you problems if you do a google the top link is from a PSU test which gets these results

Mercury KOB AP4400XA. Failed at 400W, 350W blew up at 323W after 3 minutes. I don't know what the rest of your specs are but you could be getting close to the limits of the PSU so the graphics card isn't being able to draw enough power.

Faulty memory tends to give blue screens etc. If you know anyone with a spare decent PSU I'd reccomend borrowing it to try and illiminate the issue. Probably worth while dropping an e-mail to kustom to ask if they've had any other similar issues with the cards.

ps. welcome to the forums

I'd strongly recommend you upgrade your PSU to something which won't take out all your nice components when it decides to give way!

What temperature is the GPU at when it artifacts? It's not a thermal contact issue is it? The stock paste can dry, then in transport crack causing bad thermal conducting to the HSF.

I know that my PSU is total crap, but the fact is that its stable as hell. I dont get any black screens what so ever. If the PSU would be **** id get restarts and crap when i play games but i dont, i only get artifacts.

ok, do the artifacts appear almost straight away or over time?
If its over time, maybe the card/mb/ram etc is getting hot inside the case?

At first when i bought the card and launched a few 3dmark tests and played oblivion for about an hour everything was good, but after 1,5-2 hours everything started to artifact. And now even if i start my pc and launch 3dmark strait away it gives me artifacts.

That doesn't sound very good. Just to make sure could you test the card in another computer? It sounds like this could be an RMA scenario :(
