Hi
Im changing my jobs and as a result have to give my company car back. I have found a great local job and would like to buy a decent second hand car for going to and from work every morning not doing many miles as well as use at the weekends...
Can anyone suggest a good place for quality used cars which arnt main dealers around St Albans area... I am looking for a polo/golf sized car and dont want to spend more than 4-5 grand....
Thanks alot
Regards
Tim

You could prob get a nice Golf Mrk4 for Under 5,000. I love em'.

Golf / Polo are overpriced in my mind. For four grand you could get a diesel focus, relativly new on a 52 plate etc. Not possibly the worst decision you could make.

I like my Focus, just wish i went with a diesel model now.
Another vote for the Focus here.

get a wee pocket rocket from suzuki , or a smart that you can sell on for what you paid for it.

Me too, on both counts. My 1.8 doesn't half get through fuel.
Cheers,

everyone knows what saz is going to say... 206 gti 180 :) hehe... will serve you good and a nice induction kit that only kicks in around 4000rpm just to make it pretty with some chrome :) lol x

I seem to remember that there's a pretty big car supermarket just off one of the M25 junctions between St Albans and Heathrow.
Always good for trying out lots of different nearly-new models in a short space of time.
I'd echo the suggestions of a Focus. As a (controversial) alternative you can pick up a recent non-facelifted Zafira on your budget. Maybe not quite the 'image' you're trying to convey but as a cheap no-nonsense adaptable budget vehicle they are hard to beat.
