AVG free.

The best by far.

At missing viruses??

NOD32 gets my vote, already has Vista support. I think you would probably need about 300GB RAM to run Norton AV on Vista though...

300GB? more like 600 I would say. You will need 300 to run vista itself!

AVG is good, I would use NOD32 if I could afford it but I can't.

Nod32 ... been a fan a long time, it is simple to set up and actually detects virus's unlike some lol :)

Vista made me remove Norton before I could run the upgrade, Symantec say that they'll have patches etc. available soon, but don't define soon anywhere.

Isnt it just drivers and some games that dont work on different operating systems? I realise virus scanners may have issues with mail, resdient shield etc. but AVG will probably work best (except the windows one) as it is simple and has not many features. Now if only it was good at catching viruses I'm sure theyd be queing out the door

Vistas security model is completely different, hence why most security related programs won't work without updates.

Well according to everyone else, the usual lineup of AVG, avast, nod32, and kapersky work.
