I know. I am forever the optimist tho' and with Mann allegedly having the 'intellectual property' of the idea, and the word that they 'may' consider a full length feature if the ad campaign is successful I live in faint hope ;)

I can't see how such a promising idea can be ignored, I think/hope it is just a matter of time.................

Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy

It's been confirmed that this will go into production soon!

"Cult novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is to be turned into a Hollywood movie.
The scriptwriter for Chicken Run, Karey Kirkpatrick, is to complete the script from a draft version written by author Douglas Adams before his death last year.

Austin Powers director Jay Roach is to direct, and Adams will be posthumously credited as an executive producer.

Adams spent years trying to persuade Hollywood to take the project on and had become cynical about the project before he died."

Now who would you get to play the main players in this movie? :)

Hitchhikers Guide, an undisputable classic!

Tough one for the characters tho'! Based on the books description of Trillian it would have to be Shannyn Sossamon (mmmmmmmmmmmmmm like her!!!)

Marvin would have to be Bender from Futurama :D

I'm sceptical about HHG the movie - The TV series was a real let down. Even the books are a let down dammit.

What r'ya talking about? Those books are superb. But, the tv series was a real let down, but consider, its very old, and its a series, which generally are not the best way to turn a book into a film. I'm sure the film will be alot better. Its a shame they did'nt start before he passed away :( (not to mention finishing the 5th book)
