Whats the most unlucky death in a film youve seen....i think ive been playing to much CS.

Battle royale - err when the exploding neclace gets demonstrated to the school kids.

The Cube - Ouch the cheese grater wire.

Final Destiantion, when the girl gets hit by that Bus, if you play frame by frame on the DVD player you get to see her head implode then explode. :D

yep, you can't deny that final destination has some quite quality scenes. It goes a but over the top at various times though. The line though where he says "tetnis, i didn't think of that one" is just great, and where the guy gets strangled by the wire in the bath is pretty unpleasant.

It's got to be the soldier at Omaha beach in Saving Private Ryan, where his helmet gets hit by a bullet and he takes it off thinking 'f**k that was close' then gets popped big style.

Always makes me chortle!

Cheers!

No the best ever death is the bird in Shrek when Princess Fiona hits the high notes.
The fact the you see the bird swell up and the anticipation is almost unbearable makes it all the better!

How about:
a) In the original Alien, when the alien rips out of his stomach?
or
b) In Enemy of the State, when the cyclist gets run over, right at the start?

I think, the mad american guy in the 51st State, drinks this ****tail thing and then explodes.

Or in Enemy At The Gates, the Germans catch a Russian sniper, and dress him up as a German solider to lay a phone line, and his own mates (comrades) shoot him. Not thats just not nice.

Cheers

The thread is " most unlucky death", not gory, so michael Cain being shot by the squadie in Play Dirty has to be up amongst them. "Sorry Sir!" "Ok. but don't do it again."

In france they have a yearly challenge, where you have to be invited to ski down a hill.. well its not really a hill its more like a near vertical drop with Rocks and boulders all over .

Seen some nasty cappage in there..i would not like to fall several hundred feet down the side of a mountain hitting my head and body repeadly on sharp bolders as i went....OOOFFFFF.. people have died

i cant think of a nastier way to snuff it, having your arms wrenched out of there sockets as your bones splinter and your brain rattles against your inner skull...ok ive talked myself out of ever ski-ing again..

How about almost all the deaths in "Starship Troopers"? Especially the poor guy who takes off his combat helmet only to get his head shot to chunks!

Oh, and prize for standing in wrong place at wrong time goes to Ming the Merciless in "Flash Gordon". Big long spike on the front of War-rocket Ajax right through the spine............oh was he dead? Mwahahaha!!

What a bugger of an ending...we need a new flash film NOW!!!!!

Ok, i got a few.

Firstly, Bruce in Dog Soldiers, tries to shoot the werewolves, 'click', reloads and tries again, 'click', runs as fast as he can trying to get away from them only to run into a large sharp thick tree branch, blood oozing out of his mouth before being swiped and eaten up by the werewolf. Not nice.

Second, Pulp Fiction, Vincent Vega (John Travolta), leaves his gun in the kitchen as he goes for a dump, comes out to find Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) standing in kitchen holding Vincent's gun. Pop tart pops out of toaster, Butch gets a shock, fills Vincent full of lead. Pop goes the weasel indeed.

Third, in Narc, which some of you might not have seen. The guy in the bathtub, using a bong. Puts it on a table next to the bath, accidentally knocks it off the table and breaks it, decides to use a shotgun to use his drugs, forgets a shell is already loaded in, lights it up, soon enough *BANG*, his brains are all over the wall behind him, and not a trigger was pulled. He should have known smoking would be the death of him.

Fourth, Scarface, Tony Montana (Al Pacino), kills most of the intruders coming in the front of his house, only to be shot in the back by an assassin, who of course approaches slowly and carefully, only making the tension unbearable for the viewer, knowing that Tony's mass murdering is useless as he's as good as dead.

Fifth, oh i could go on, Training Day, Alonzo Harris (Denzel Washington), has just escaped from the rough black part of Los Angeles, where everyone pretty much hates him. He's been beaten and had guns pointed at him, and escapes, only to be killed brutally by the Russians in a hailstorm of bullets.

How about Blade 2, the vampire who escapes death at the beginning by letting Blade know where Whistler is kept, and then escapes death again because Blade runs out of bullets, only to be hunted down right at the end of the film, just as he's going into a strip club as i recall.

Hmmm, ok, what about in Hannibal, Ray Liotta gets his head cut open and his brains eaten by Hannibal, that has to be pretty unlucky.

Last one isn't so much an unlucky death, but a surprising resurrection. First Austin Powers film, No. 2 gets killed at the end of the movie by the upturning chairs into the fire pit, yet is back with no scars or burns in the second film. Although, being flung into a firepit is, i suppose, a tad unlucky....

If i think of anymore i'll get back to you.

Anyone seen Final Destination 2 yet? That has to win all awards for the most unlucky death in film. A guy falls from a ladder, which then slides down and stops 2 inches from his face. Three seconds later, it splatters through his eye. And who could forget the woman whose airbag deploys, smashing her head through a piece of piping stuck through her headrest

I found another one, in Natural Born Killers.

Tom Sizemores character, the cop, ends up being beaten up by Mallory in the jailcell towards the end of the movie. He fights back and has her down as Mickey gets in the room. Mickey and him end up on the floor, Mickey with shotgun pointing at Sizemore, Sizemore with big pistol pointing at Mickey. Mallory is slumped at the wall behind Sizemore. Mickey tells Sizemore that he'll blow his brains over the backwall if he doesn't drop the gun, Sizemore says he'll kill him if he doesn't drop the shotgun. The standoff holds for a second, then Mickey puts the shotgun down, giving in. Mallory then attacks Sizemore from behind and gets him slumped against the wall. Mickey gets up, emptys the shells of the shotgun.....no shells were in it, he couldn't have shot Sizemore if he wanted to. Sizemores pistol gets taken off him and he is shot brutally.

That has to be pretty unlucky, but how was he to know Mickey had no shells left.

The one that always makes me chuckle when i think about it is in Carrie 2 where there's the woman who was the only survivor of the fire from the first film. She went through years of psychotherapy and managed to put her life back together again then gets stabbed through the head when going to the door of a house! She might as well have died in teh first one! LOL!
