I think Family Guy has to be the funniest just now - every episode I've seen is brilliant ! Anyone else got a fave? :)
Also include Futurama in that.

Call me old fashioned but I still don't think u can beat the Simpsons. I'll quite happilly veg out in front of futurama and I've nearly finished the first season Family guy boxset, but I stil prefer the simpsons
family guy is very very good
but right now i'm quite partial to a bit of king of the hill, it's just so funny and it's on sky during the day

Vicky the Viking!!!!!! No way!!!!! I'd forgotten all about that!
I can remember well sitting in my 'jammies in front of the TV waiting for STV to start on a Saturday morning, and Vicky the Viking to come on. Hmmmm.....And there was the awful Scottish jig type music + twee test card that used to be on before TV started of a morning....oh dear....
That said, Simpsons are tops for me. Followed by King of the Hill. ANd what about Beavis and Butthead, surely someone will give them a mention???????
IB.
Not necessarily a cartoon, but i loved anything with the muppets. Couldn't beat Gonzo the great, Miss Piggy, Fozzie da Bear, The Swedish Chef (mark mark mark....here's da chocolat, and here's da mooose....put the chocolat on da moose....chocolat moose!), Sam the Eagle, Electric Mayhem (the band), Animal, Dr Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker....there's so many more....in fact, this calls for a post!

Holy Sh1t, I didn't think ANYONE out there remembered Ulysses! ("Ulyseeeeeees, no-one else can do the things you dooooooo")
Ah, there were some classic theme tunes. Jamie and the Magic Torch and Chorlton and the Wheelies were my tiny tot faves.
Battle of the Planets is THE ultimate toon, but the landmark in British cartoons has to be Dangermouse. David Jason and Terry Scott and the corniest script ever.
Out of the modern stuff, I like all of the usual suspect but The Angry Beavers also has it's moments.........maybe that's just me when I'm hungover on a Saturday morning though?
i see u mentioned fist of north star , i am a huge anime fan i never mentioned any cause i dont count them as cartoons.
Why aren't they cartoons? Surely they are adult cartoons in the anime style? Thats what I always assumed.
Holy Sh1t, I didn't think ANYONE out there remembered Ulysses!
I remember Ulysses, was a great great cartoon!
but the landmark in British cartoons has to be Dangermouse
I forgot to put that one, and I couldn't agree more, there is nothing more British than Dangermouse, :)
Out of the modern stuff, I like all of the usual suspect but The Angry Beavers also has it's
And MIB, that is really quite good, especially the animation. Hey Arnold is pretty reasonable at times. and no one has mentioned Pinky and the Brain!
I possibly should mention that I go to extraordinary lengths to collect these cartoons in divx or mpg on the PC, I have episodes of Ulysses 31, Dangermouse, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Transformers, Pinky and the Brain, Reboot, Batman Beyond, Ren and Stimy, Simpsons, Futurama (every episode ever shown), Justice League, Gummi Bears, Thundercats, Bravestarr, etc... That was while I was at uni (behind a v restrictive firewall), I'm hoping off campus with an ADSL connection I'll be able to collect a lot more!

Battletech, Ulysses 31, Battle of the Planets, The Muskerhounds, Mysterious Cities of Gold.
Faimly Guy is one of my current faves with Stuie. Just a shame that Sky cut it to bits.
Cheers
Rims
A lot of those names brought back happy memories....we have Ulysses31, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors,Thundercats,Underdog,Tom and Jerry,Garfield, and loads of Scooby Doo...as well as a more modern collection of Japanese anime...y I am not allowed to call them cartoons I do not know!!My daughter and her friends r so into them they draw anime figures all the time and want to learn Japanese...! :eek:P.S..hope no one likes Pokemon...it was one of the worst films and series I have had to endure!!!

Family guy rocks, i have just dl all the available episodes on Kazaa and watched them on a 3 day marathon in my spare time, laughter all the way, especially as they were not cut really cox they were recorded off Fox. :D
sorry but old skool all the way like jason and the wheeled warriors was so class man and usliees (sp? late and need sleep) thundercats ruled and most ppl class anime as cartoons (not all the dbz crap tho) propper films like akira and gits (ghost in the shell) all classics
oh and simpsons rule :)

Yep, Thundercats was just so fab man - they like totally kicked ass every episode. (getting all american now)
But - gotta agree with Demonixz - the ultimate HAS to be the Tex Avery voiced toons, especially the hanna/barbara Tom and Jerry's that were produced by Fred Quimby. Just Fantastic. And SO refreshingly politically incorrect as a bonus!!
Have to say also that Johnny Bravo is excellent although the newer ones aren't as good as the first series. Don't like that wimpy kid with the glasses.
Can't beat the Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy for modern classics though.

I can't believe that someone actually likes fist of the north star. It was bloody awful. The only thing that happened was that he punched someone and then either their head exploded or or their spine took 3 twists (the programme was an 18, and fits EVERY stereotype associated with manga productions).
I recommend rurouni kenshin, known in britain and america as samurai x.
You will need to be extremely lucky to find the dvd's though.

Garfield and Snoopy were kickass.
