Hi Guys,
I have one of these cards and t-mobile are currently doing them cheap so though that people would be more and more interested in them.
Instead of using the default Comms Center that comes with the card (which is pants) use the drivers from here: http://solutionspartners.t-mobile.co.uk/moffice/user/page.phtml?product_ref=communication_centre&page_id=98&download_id=74
Then follow this to set the modem up as a dial up connection:
Start > Control Panel > Phone & Modem Options
Select "3G Globetrotter ..." and click on Properties
Go to advanced tab and type this in initislation box:
+CGDCONT=1,"IP","general.t-mobile.uk"
Click Ok.
Then goto "Networks Connection" and click on "Make new connection".
Select "Connect To The Internet" .... Next
Select "Set up connection manually" .... Next
Select "Dial up modem" .... Next
Select "3G Globetrotter...." .... Next
Choose a name for the connection (anything will do) .... Next
For Phone number use *99# .... Next
Untick "Use default connection" .... Next
Tick Place shortcut on desktop .... Finish
Much better than fannying around with the default software. Also works for Vodafone, O2, Orange as they are all just rebranded option cards. Although you will have to change the APN to the mobile network that you are using.
(note: before anyone accuses me of stealing this from 3g.co.uk I wrote that one as well :) )
