Hi, having decided to get a epia instead of a shuttle (cost reasons and looks). I was curious if any of you had tried a 2-slot PCI riser into the single PCI slot on the board? I read somewhere on the net it will work if both cards in the riser are PCI 2.1 compliant, not sure how true this is. Any idea where to get a 2 slot riser in the UK, as I figure I will test it when I finally order my bits? Also any word on the via 2 slot riser for this board?

Thanks
Ched

I'm trying to source a 1-slot PCI riser!

Or better still, an AGP slot riser! Anyone know if these exist? Failing that, where can I find a 1-slot riser??

I'm going to build an MP3/DVD/Games machine in an ikkle aluminium case, such as Mr Stuart did!

Cheers!

I have just found this (http://www.hytec-electronics.co.uk/Adex%20Price%20List.htm) site Welly, they seem to sell a selection of PCI and AGP riser :)

Good selection, but for the riser I want that's £17, plus £15 shipping, plus £20 because it's a small order!! :(

ouch, i did not check prices, i am just searching for 2 slot pci risers. That £15 shipping + £20 small order is a little rough!!!

wow! 37 quid for a 17 quid riser! How many more people can we get to buy them so we have a 250 quid order?

Can you get any, Kustom??

Blimey!

Just reading that site again regarding the risers..

Shipping Charges - £15 per order to cover USA -> UK shipping, plus small order sur-charge of £20 plus the actual item! Unless I'm reading this wrong, it's 35 quids worth of charges for a 17 quid item. Excellent! £52 for the AGP riser! I'm going to email these buggers.

Please be aware dual PCI risers do not work with the eden/epia boards. These require a special as yet unreleased board which takes the second PCI slot from a header on the board. Single PCI slot risers work fine.

PCI - AGP risers, never ever used them although I have seen them advertised. In theory they will work - all be it slowly - AGP 1 standard.

Well, this is fine as it's on a fairly old (in the grand scheme of things) board.. I'm not planning to be running quake 3 off it! But then again, I'm not willing to pay 50 odd quid for a 17 quid adapter. 20 pounds for a "small order surcharge" is a complete rip off. I'm going to order online from the US site. I bet including VAT it'd be cheaper than buying from that UK company. And I'm going to tell them that. B'stards!

If you don't already have the card you plan to use I'd recommend picking up a PCI 7500 or similar, perhaps even geforce. This will give you much less hassle in the long run.

There is a certain UK company that will sell you a package for £5 which includes a single PCI riser.

thanks PJ, whish i'd known that when i ordered my psu from them. do u know how high it stands at all?

my dad bought the AIW from ebuyer so he could capture video from his camcorder (fool paid about 160 quid for it tho...)
i later bought a 64mb vivo radeon agp of a mate for 30 which i'm going to swap him for it.

tryin to make a divx/CS box in a pc26 for my front room.

have taken a few pics of the box this mornin, will post 'em once it's complete (i.e never)
