That's a great project - nice one !

And thanks very much for the comments :D

I'm planning on adding a customers' projects section to the site in future, so I'll make sure this is included (or if I forget, remind me :) )

How was the importing experience? Did everything go smoothly?

It took 3 weeks to get the screen. I ordered off their web page and it appeared in the post. They have a UK warehouse in Grimsby apparently.

They've now got a UK based supplier (in Grimsby), so delivery prices and times should be no more than 'normal' - wi' the exception of Kustom of course... whose £2.00 or so ain'tnormal :D

Great job on yer jukebox btw Gary ;)

Hullo.

I've been considering using this screen for my possible upcoming project, and I was wondering about the quality...

You have this screen jacked into the TV-out via an RCA cable, right? What res do you run the screen at, and how sharp is the pic quality?

The display picture quality isn't that good, but for what I need it for it's OK.

I very much to make something like this - although I think I'll use the Lian Li PC-9300 (http://kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=1054) and put a NewQ Platinum in the other drive bay :)

Can you explain the video connection? I'm guessing you're using the Epia's on-board VGA, with an RCA adapter (where do you get one of those from?)

And how does the Via C3 do at encoding MP3s? My old 800MHz Athlon used to take about twice as long encoding as ripping, which was a bit boring.

Anyway, pukka project mate.

The screen is conected to the EPIA's composite output. I've found that ripping to WMA files using Media Player 8 and lately 9 have been fine.

Very nice indeed. I am working on something very similar using a clear perspex box (255mm x 210mm x 125). Just enough room in there for epia board a 10 gig hd and the the very same PSU that you are using. I'll be running WinXP and using Winamp as the media playback software. The hd will be pre-loaded with MP3s but if I need to load some more I'll link up to my main PC using wifi. All encoding will take place on the main pc. I had been intending to use my Sony 15in LCD monitor with this but now I've seen that screen :)
