Its offical. ANPR cameras that the police use are racist. Apparetly 46% of the people stopped by them are black in areas where the average black population is 11%.
Maybe now the lefties will conclude that maybe "offender profile" is a good way to start targeting criminals.
Anyways the article is at:

LMAO.
These type of things always make me laugh.
We use ANPR all the time here, and all it does is read the number plate and tell you if the cars worth stopping. The machine doesn't know the ethnicity of the driver. If most of the drivers are black, that's because they are the people that are driving without insurance or whatever. It's not racism, it's factual.
Next it'll be the Muslim Foglight alliance....

I bet the cameras wear veils, too...
Ah man.. This is political correctness gone mad. Right, I'm a scientist ok, so I go on facts. The computer can't possibly know the ethnicity of the driver but goes on the likelihood of the car to be being driven illegally. The average black population is 11% but the arrests of black people are 45%.... The met is trying to explain this away! Um, pretty logical explanation in my books!
As Frothy said, if it's a fact it's a fact. There's nothing rascist about saying that a certain demoghraphic is more likely to commit a certain type of crime in a certain area if the figures show that to be correct. I know for a fact if you look at the figures for people commiting fraud they are mainly white, males. That's not racists or sexist, it's a fact.. Square and simple!
I wish we didn't live in a country where people are scared to say things for being branded as something they're not just for highlighting the facts of a situation! Anyway, rant over!

Nope, but they would get off scot free ;)
If you really want the world to be PC you must have the police leave criminals alone. After all the criminal element is a very small part of society, therefore its a minority. So to be fair an innocent person should be arrested for every guilty one arrested!.

I thought they did that already? :p

No... They arrest the innocent one and the guilty one just helps them with thier enquiries and then gets released.

That has to be one of the most ridiculous things Ive ever heard, whats happening to this country. They should just say it, many blacks don't have insurance ect ect.

I've always been of the belief that racism only exists because some still insist on researching facts like this.
I mean really, why not make statistics saying 39% of the people pulled over by the cameras were blonde, and only 15% had brown hair?
Criminals are criminals no matter what the colour of their skin or any other factor of course, and I think if less time was spent on making statistics differentiating black people from white and vice versa then we would probably have far less 'racism' in our society.
