WHy would sony not enable it on new games if it was that easy ?

Hmm I imagine all this is, is software upmixing. HDTV resolutions were not built into the PS2 graphics chip. A better solution then this disk would be to plug it into a HDTV upmixer which by using hardware will do a far better job. Or alternatively plug it into any half decent HDTV such as the range by samsung and it will upmix it for you making it nice and shiny ;)

I've got a decent Samsung HDTV (the LE26R74BDX - am I sad for remembering the model number?) and PS2 (and any non-HD console) look painfully bad.

It's worth noting that this HDTV pack actually includes Component cables, which are far superior to the standard PS2 A/V cable and may well make a considerable difference on their own. That's why I'll be buying this; even if the loader doesn't make much difference, I hope the cables will.
