View Full Version : SS51 & the Blue Blob Thingy (tm)
On my current AMD 1Ghz setup, I lose all USB devices at some point while using the Alcatel Blue Blob Thingy (tm) ADSL modem.
But now that I have finally got my SS51 home, I was just wondering if I will still have problems with my USB? I plan on using the modem, mouse, PDA and printer or scanner with the SS51. Will this be too much for the USB to handle or will it be okay. (And also because it is no longer a VIA chipset)

You shouldnt have any probs if its the onboard usb causing the probs at the moment. Bear in mind though that there are only 2 usb ports at the rear of the ss51 and then 2 at the front
Thanks. As far as I know, it is the onboard USB controller that is the problem. Something about the modem drawing the maximum amount of current or something from the USb port, and with another device (say mouse) on the same header, it exceeds the limit and all USB is killed.
I will just have to wait a few days for me to sort my SS51 out and then I will give the modem a go.
Thanks again.
