View Full Version : Samsung LE37R72B to PC via DVI (problem)
I recently bought a Samsung LE37R72B with the intention to use it both as monitor and tv. At first I connected it to my PC through VGA and it worked simply perfect at 1360*768. To have this and my regular monitor connected at the same time I needed either to buy a splitter or a DVI-HDMI cable. I opted for the cable and it does not work properly. I can not configure the resolution at 1360*768 as before and when configuring it as TV, regardless the resolution that I set, the image is always larger that the screen itself and there is no way to reduce it.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Any solution?
Thanks.
So the problem is that you can't get the PC picture to show correctly on your TV now you've got a DVI-HDMI cable?
What spec is your PC? Most importantly, what graphics card does it use?
I remember reading that some graphics cards struggle to display a picture properly on TV out and a bit of 3rd party software was needed for configuring the resolution.
EDIT: Powerstrip! That's what it's called. Bit of info here CLICKY (http://www.htpcnews.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=410)
Thanks. My graphic card is Nvidia Geforce 6600 GT. Ive read that with that program I wont get any better than 1280*768 while I used to get 1360*768...
That's an odd one and one I'm interested in as I'm looking to get an LCD TV in the future.
I did a Google HERE (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=1360+768+LCD+TV+DISPLAY+PROPERLY&hl=en&lr=&start=10&sa=N) but can't review some of the more promising results 'cause of naff work PC  Have a look and tell me how you get on.
Also, found THIS (http://forums.entechtaiwan.net/viewtopic.php?t=2058&sid=5d4f2a365d253c84dfd15229e37d2208) that might help. The third post onwards seems to offer a sort of solution?
Let me know how you get on :)
