My BIOS only shows CPU temperature, not system temp. It also shows my (5v) fan speeds correctly, hovering around 2300-2400 and 1500-1600 RPM respectively.
However the VIA software reports the system temp is the same as the CPU, and both fans are a constant 2570. Upgrading the BIOS and VIA drivers didn't help. Anyone got any ideas of how to fix, or any software that works better than the VIA one??

I installed the hardware monitor on my SV24 and got slightly different results.
The CPU and system temps ARE approx the same but the system temp creeps up with a slight lag behind the CPU temp.
As you say, the fan speeds are pretty useless although (and I'd have to check this) I can't remember whether my fan speeds fluctuated or were rock-solid.
What set up do you have? I'm running a C3 900Mhz (100FSB) so it's pretty damn chilly.

I've got C3 933 fanless, I've removed the power supply fan and put the supplied CPU fan onto the outside of the PSU at 5v and have an 8cm fan in the HDD bay. It badly needs a blowhole near the PSU unless I'm planning to fry eggs on the case!!!
My system temp doesn't lag behind the CPU temp, it is always identical. This is presumably wrong because I have the stock heatsink on there, which doesn't look as though it's much good passive. The fan speeds are definitely wrong because the BIOS has them correct.

Well I've solved this by using different software. Motherboard Monitor 5.2. It correctly detects system and CPU temperature, and both fan speeds.
Now that I can see what temps I have, I can start to do something about lowering them :D
