Whats your experience of getting DVDs to play over networks? I'm asking because my drive less Epia is sat under my TV and I want DVDs to stream across the network from the main PC.
What softwares best to use etc?

Managed to do this without any extra software...
Just mount the DVD drive a a network share, and map it on your computer of choice. Then it's just a simple matter of the DVD drive streaming the data over a 100 LAN and the box at your end doing the decoding.
What software did you use to enable a mapped drive too work? I could never find anything to point to the right area except this but it never really worked for me VLS http://www.videolan.org/
when i am too lazy to go downstairs and watch my DVDs, i shout to my flatmate "oi, put Fast and the Furious in the Pioneer"...
then i use PowerDVD XP, which allows u to open media files... open up " the mapped drive - assigned to the downstairs Pioneer DVD ROM"
no difference to playing on the actual pc.
I tried my copy of Power DVD v 4.0 tonight on a web tablet with no ide devices and that failed to pick up th emapped drive it may be I need a reg hack to get it to work but to be honest I'm forcing the issue a bit!. I have a main PC thats the main client on o WiFi/10/100 network and a web tablet and Car PC thats WiFi so its a bit of a weird setup hence it not working for me. Anyone tried getting Power DVD working from a client like this .. any help welcome
