Hi,
I have one of the blue PCB 6600GT AGP 128Mb with the non-working temp sensor. I downloaded the files from the support page on the Club 3D site but when I use NVflash, it recognises the card and identifies the core, but it will not flash and says unknown EEPROM. I have tried everything up to version 5.31 and a few WFFlash versions too, to no avail.
Can you help?

Thanks
A

I couldn't get it to flash my SN05 Gf6600GT either - it kept bitching about the board ID being different.

I grabbed nvFlash 5.31 from mvktech.net, then patched the video BIOS as per http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=1945&st=0. Now I've got a working temperature sensor on the GeForce :)

Thanks for the reply,
unfortunately, there is an override switch in NVFlash for board ID mismatch, but not for unknown EEPROM.

Like I said - have a look at MVKTech (you want the latest version of NvFlash you can get - last time I checked that was 5.31) then follow the instructions on the nVidia forums (see the link I posted) to patch the ROM and enable the temperature sensor. The new version of NvFlash should be able to recognise the EEPROM on the card - if not, then I can't think of a way you'd be able to get around that.

Sorry,
I tried that. The EEPROM ID comes back as (20,FF) and there is no version of NVFlash available on the MVKTech site that supports such an EEPROM.
I have also tried WFFLash and it does ID card OK, but it runs into an error on the later stages of the BIOS flash and says it cannot read a memory segment and stops saying retry yes or no. I have done retry numerous times and it does not work. Selecting no, just stops the process.

I'm mystified.
