View Full Version : New Project!
Well all my room si getting decorated and i was going to have the PC out of my office in my room, but then decided to make a Home Theatre,
I already have a fully functional 5.1 Surround Sound, so really just need some good stuff behind it, got myself a 200GB HD, installed Media Center on it, now its time to build my PC, not sure what i really need for a good build, it will mainly house my music and will just run MEdia Center, and maybe the internet, not using it for Phothsop or gaming so i wont eed as much RAm,
The case im going to be using is http://www.thermalrock.com/chassis/mystic/mystic.htm
Just wondering what you all think?

You need a nice MicroATX Motherboard, Like: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_5589.html
This one has got a decent onboard graphics, so there no is no immediate need for a single graphics card.
Then maybe a AMD64 3200+, Here: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_5681.html
512MB DDR RAM should do, I recommand: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_5232.html
Nice DVD-RW Drive: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_4292.html (Only Silver one I could find in the store, you could get any other and put the CoolerMaster Ally front on it, which is located here: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_2908.html)
Power Supply: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_1756.html
You already have a hardrive, but when you install it into a new system, you will have to format and re-install Windows Media Centre.
This should be a good system. You could go for the full ATX, but MicroATX is sufficent in Media Centres.
P.S - Have I missed anything ?
Edit: Ahhhh, yes. You might want some TV Cards in there to, if you go that far.
Was looking at the Mini ATX's there just what i was looking, for, as im not going to be needing alot of power then it not to sure about that CPU, maybe a little overkill for what im going to be using it for, but then again i suppose ive got extra speed there if i need it,
This case comes with a PSU, so thats a good bonus, i have no problems with re-installing so thats no issue,
I hadn't really thought of a DVD-RW but come to think of it, will come in usefull so thast a gopod find thanks alot ;)
As this case it small, i was looking to see what i could do with on-board graphics this one looks ace, so thats another good find!
Many Thanks ;)

Make sure that Pre-Supplied PSU is compatible with the Motherboard.
You don't want to get all your bits and bobs, and they don't fit
