I'm currently very tired after my boring day at school so I thought it would be fun to find out what everyone's pet hate is.
Mine is people chewing with their mouth open.. And little screaming kiddies who bash their heads on the ground in the middle of the supermarket until they get what they want..

I've had the same sort of thing, they ask you what graphic card for example would be best for a particular game and instead of taking the advice they sit there and pick at it saying that Nvidia is better or whatever..
Please dont start the usual Ati vs Nvidia crap as it was just an example

People who know that you know they are under 18 and still try to purchase alcohol. They make a fuss because you ask for proof of ID. They're not the one who would be prosecuted and be fined (£5000 in my area).

I hate people that use bad grammar/spelling/laziness in posting, generally; people who have the ability to construct a post properly, but don't.
If someone struggles with English, and makes a few spelling/grammatical errors, then that's fine by me. Of course they could always use a dictionary to check their post.
I have a feeling this is going to turn into another spelling/grammar rant thread now. :/
(btw, that wasn't a rant at you Bloomerz, it's just you did quote 'bad grammar' then make a mistake in the same post :p)

English people that think/act like they're American!
Things like spelling words incorrectly* (as in spelling them in the 'American way') and using 'American' words, or phrases. Just tiny little things that others might not notice, but that really annoys me! :mad:
I have a few others but they'd probably be viewed as 'politically incorrect' and would probably not go down well.
Oh, and that's another thing! I hate political correctness, and stupid laws to reinforce 'political correctness'. Arrrgh

my other pet hate is that technology develops so quickly that as you buy one computer, theres another one out thats "better"
i also hate sales! when i bought my laptop i got it on the weekend, then the next weekend i went to see sound systems, and noticed my laptop, £50 off, made me annoyed! :mad: :mad:

I agree with your 'PC' veiws, from how i see it 'white' people can be insulted but when it comes to 'black' people its racist and serious action has to be taken. Despite the fact that in other communites 'white' people are regually insulted and even murderd.

when you move to a new school and people cant accept the way that you are, and leave you by yourself all day (thats what I have to do at school)
young girls in year 7,8,9,10, I have a word for them that you all know but I wouldn't want to say it in case theres little kiddies on here
Yr 8,9's that insist on having hour long conversations in the middle of the pathway forcing anyone trying to get through to walk in the mud

My biggest pet hate is when people trow their rubish out of the car window - it makes me so mad.
I also hate drivers who only seem to drive at 40mph, no matter what the speed limit is.
Mopeds as well, especially the jackasses which ride side-by-side.
Oh and the over use of the word Chav is very annoying.
I have more, but it's 5:30 which means I can finally go home - YAY! :D

My brother shouting at the computer, its a game ffs. If it was easy it would be pointless. Also my parents moaning that the computer is slow when it's a higher spec than mine but won't take my advice about how to fix it.
This is something I knew would happen, "Jon how do you do this?", I don't care I'm trying to do my own coursework here, I'll help if I don't have to move or even look at them but I hate being used as techi suppport when I am not. I'm a student just trying to get his work done.
EDIT: Bloomerz I have had the same thing from Latency, but I can see how being told the same thing can **** you off, it does to me.

Back in the day, when I was an AOL-chat-a-holic I'd enter a room and it'd just flop within minutes of me first speaking. If it kept quiet, it would go on forever...
Same with mIRC...and forum threads. You just wait and see....this is officially the end of any useful comments to this thread.

5 Minute long recaps at the beginning of TV shows, is this really necessary? 'Lost' must be the worst culpret.
Fad, Formula and Spin off TV shows... For example:- All those dreadful antique programs on BBC, all those 'relocation relocation' and 'A place in the sun' type shows and of course 'Pop Idol' and it's clones. Lest we forget CSI, CSI NY, CSI Vegas, CSI Bognor, CSI Timbuktu etc etc etc. I wish these people would have just a little more imagination.
The word Chav... It's massively over used and It's just not offensive enough to describe these vulgar simpletons. May I suggest 'House Pikey' or 'Inbred pauper scum' as viable alternatives. ;)
Brits abroad... No wonder all of Europe hates us, look at the way our teenagers behave when they go to ibiza and aya nappa (sp?) It makes me so ashamed when you see them on telly, puking and fighting in the street.
People that go to live in another country and then 'acquire' the accent. In my opinion you can only acquire an accent if you actively try to. Catherine Zeta Jones clearly being the worst offender in living memory.

This softly, softly approach has cultivated a generation of kids who have no respect of authority.

Staff in shops that are in the phone when you walk in, so you look around the shop for about 10 minutes, go back to the till, and there still talking to the same person, go to another shop, or a few other shops, come back, and still on the phone!! (thats only happened once, but it was quite anoying)
People who always take jokes too far (thats happened too many times)
Myself being late (just can't stand letting people down)
Forgetting something that was crucial to what I was doing.
For some reason, thi only happens to me, but people who always smell, in somewhere like a supermarket, always somehow manage to stay near me, or the smell does! (I was sick once the smell was so bad!)

Might just be me getting old but this kind of attitude seems to be extremely popular in the younger generations and in my day (god i sound old) if you were cheeky or out spoken you used to get a good kicking and the coppers would just say 'well you probably deserved it now run along' (obviously not if your beaten that you need hospital!).
When i was in manchester i gave a scally a good going over outside a bar because he was being a nob and the coppers parked across the road just gave me a thumbs up! He only had enough of a kick to bring him off his high horse and make him walk away in silence - but there are two many youngsters like that that think they are the puppys nuts and untouchable!

Actualy thats a bug on the older (2 versions back i think) set your status to busy and nudge like a bitch :) i dont use it unless i know the person on the receiving end is a ****er and has a 400 mhz cpu and 0.0000000190 Ram (slight exageration) and you know they're pc will crash and they have to reboot :)
I hate people telling me things i already know, not really their fault though and the sound freezers make when you open them

Might just be me getting old but this kind of attitude seems to be extremely popular in the younger generations and in my day (god i sound old) if you were cheeky or out spoken you used to get a good kicking and the coppers would just say 'well you probably deserved it now run along' (obviously not if your beaten that you need hospital!).
When i was in manchester i gave a scally a good going over outside a bar because he was being a nob and the coppers parked across the road just gave me a thumbs up! He only had enough of a kick to bring him off his high horse and make him walk away in silence - but there are two many youngsters like that that think they are the puppys nuts and untouchable!

My pet hate is keeping my mouth shut when people annoy me or (in my eyes) are doing something to slow, all in the interest of being polite and sociable. When what i really want to do is shout at them and tell them to stop being childish and if need be be add an insult. Grrr! :mad:

Poor personal hygiene, there is one person I know who seems to be opposed objector to soap. When you have running water there is no excuse, he smells like a lepers bed. It is grossly unpleasant.

current pet hate is people on MSN who use one line per word!!
it's ok if it's just:

or something like that!! but a whole sentance or 2 with every single work on a single line!!!! it gets bloooody annoying!!!! (you know who you are!! :P:P)
i now just block them.
also another Pet hate!
someone has an issue and asks for your advice! (nothing life threatening or personal) but to do with computers!!
you give them the correct advice to solve their issue (or at least speed then up a bit) but they ignore it saying that it's too hard or can't bve bothred!!!!!
then why the Frack did they ASK for help in the first place!!!!
Arghhh!!!!! it gets very annoying when you tell then how to solve thier problem but they won't put the 5 min effort into it!! that may save their machine or a few hours of work!?!?!?!?!
