View Full Version : Sharian Law in the UK
What's this all about? If you haven't seen it on the news there is a debate on whether Muslim comminities should have Sharian Law over & above UK common law! This involves public stonings & beheadings!
I cannot fathom how it could be considered acceptable to allow ANY group of people to behave in any way different from the rest of society, religious belief or not. I am personally offended by this as I lived several years of my youth in Saudi Arabia & Kuwait, where I'm sure stonings, the cutting of limbs & beheadings would surely have applied to us should we hae strayed from their strict laws (taking a picture of the Kings palace for instance).
Does anyone have any other opinions, or agreements for that matter?
Maybe that was a bit more of a rant but it was a 'Topical' rant none the less. :D

Methinks the big nasty guns of the English law would prevail on that issue. :) Mind you i'm sure Blair wouldn't mind some opponents getting stoned.
FFS You come to our country, you live by OUR laws SAVVY?!
If we went to their country and farted in someone else's vicinity we'd get lynched so fast the smell would still be hanging around.
Why should they get special treatment?!
It's Sharia...and no, there's no way is coming over here to take presidence
Nah, stuff it.
Let 'em have it. We let sikh's walk round with their offensive weapons, we let burglars and junkies have "human rights" at the detriment of the victims, so why not let the muslims have a go too.
Whilst were at it, we may as well change the national anthem to something less English too.
Come on everybody, sing along....
"chite chaul jinna ne punn keete, rabb ne banayiya jordian, Ho je tu gidhian di rani, te main bhangre da raja, Aapa saareya nu nach ke dikhayaiye ni, billo chal hun bhangra payiye ni."
Hmmm, is that my P45 I hear being printed....

I couldn't agree more. And if they want their public stonings and beheadings, we can just arrest and deport them
what news channel do you watch? i have never heard of this.
There was a big thing last night & then again this morning on Sky News.
I thought Democracy meant that the decision involves the WHOLE of the country not JUST to specific communities! Where would it end if this started?
There was a big thing last night & then again this morning on Sky News.well that examines it, i personally cant stand the way ITV and sky broadcast and present the news, in a effort to draw fear and over reaction witch in tern boosts profits for them.
The whole thing sounds completely laughable but I'm sure there must be more to it in order for it to have been taken this far (if indeed it has been taken far) ?
I've heard about this before, think it orginated from a certain newspaper containing the words Daily and Mail in the title ;). It's another media created story designed to create fear and hysteria.
uuhh']well that examines it, i personally cant stand the way ITV and sky broadcast and present the news, in a effort to draw fear and over reaction witch in tern boosts profits for them.
Its a proven fact that news corporations here (and in the USA) emphisise the negative stories more than the positive ones (if they carry any positive stories). Then theres the "fear" type stories, e.g. MMR fears, Bird Flu. Compare this with Canada and you'll see a marked difference in the way news is covered.
True! I have long realised that the British media have put emphasis on the negative issues rather than any positive stories, like you say, if at all.
When you think of all the good deeds done that we KNOW of, it must be almost a crime to ignore some of the heroic acts that happen from day to day.

It's all rubbish ... hyped up by the media to make the british public think 'negatively' about muslims!
If you ask a real muslim he/she will tell you that the first thing that islam teaches you is to respect the law of the country you live in!
Public stoning and beheading is a part of islamic law, and it has its place in a REAL islamic run country ... lets face it how many of you would steal if you knew that once caught you'd have your hands chopped off!
but everything as usual is taken out of context by the media ... hey if you read the Daily Mail then i'm a potential suicide bomber!
Oh and another thing ... suicide in Islam is a big no no ... and so is killing innocent people for any reason or cause!!!

This is stupied, you treat everyone one the same no matter religion, race or gender. Giving them seperate laws and special rights is making them out casts from the English Society. If you go to someones house you go by their rules you don't act like you own there place and sole. You go into a coutnry you go by their rules and not your own.
They should be treated the same as everyone else. They are in the UK so they will go by the UK laws like everyone else.

Well as I said in another post not so long ago (cough, cough), if they don't like it here then LEAVE. It does make one wonder what the hell they are doing in this terrible place. I bet even Bin Laden has some western fetish. I do not jest. I want to reiterate something else i've said before. I heard Tony Blair say it and I agree with it wholeheartedly (quite rare for me)! He said democracy isn't just a Western thing or something on those lines. It is something almost all folk seem to choose when given the choice. If any do crave for their old dictatorships, then they are certainly in the minority. Look at Iraq now. They might not be completely happy, but how many of 'em want the good old days back???
