Multiple Monitors

A quick question about multiple monitors (am wearing absestos in case this gets asked alot :eek: )

I have 2 7800 GT which run in sli but generally I only enable this for gaming as I tend to run 2 monitors using the 2 dvi connectors on the "primary" card.

If I connect to the 2nd card I get nowt, bubkiss, black screen of nothingness.

Is this right? Should it not just work?

P.S. I'm reasonably certain I'm missing something hugely obvious but... don't know what it is.

do you not have to enable the other monitor in your display settings, i know with my ati control panel, i can switch one of my monitors off, change their ordering or extend the desktop over both monitors, im not sure about nvidia, but that would be the first place i look

Yeah - normally but I can't get the computer to accept that there is anything plugged into the 2nd graphics card. I've tried reasoning with it and even threatened it with the screwdriver of doom but to no avail. :(
