View Full Version : Superbowl
Well ive recently got into american football a bit, and now i really want to watch the game - i think its on till 4am though, and i have 6th form in the morning - that'll be fun :D . One other thing im not sure about is how ive heard so much of that time is adverts, with very little football - i hope its not too bad.
So is anyone else going to be watching?

But what do you expect? I usually watch. Not as much into the sport as I used to be. As a Bills supporter i've had my ups and downs! Watching since 1982 at the tender age of 7. Steelers to win I think. Hope it's a GOODUN!
i have a bet with a mate on the Steelers to win, its lookin good :p
and this will the first superbowl ive watched - dont know what to expect :o

It's looking good? It hasn't started yet! You must be an optimist. Never say it's looking good before something has started that you have money on. Law of sod you will be stung and be eating lashings of humble pie in the morning.

By the way. Steroids are rife in the sport now. It is very sad. People leaving in bad health. You heard of Lawrence Taylor? He died young. Many experts reckon it won't be long before you see someone die on the field.

The drugs are a very bad part of the sport, I don't know much about this topic do to the fact that I love the sport so much that I don't care to know about it's dark under belly in fear that it would force me into disliking the sport :(
Anyway I think the Steelers will win but not by much, I'm hoping that it will be a three point game. With both teams battling it out to the very end, should be a good game but you never know

I think you got the wrong sport. Still, i'm sure they have the same mentality.

My old Welsh rugger coach used to say that. I believe he used to call them 'a bunch of pooftah fairies.'

Hehehe yer,
even funnier is if you talk to an American about it they get rather upset when you mention that fact.
think i'll stick to watching the poker on challenge tv.

I'm American and it doesn't bother me what any of you think about the sport. I like football because, I like it and thats that. I'm sure if I knew anything about the sports you ladies and gents have over there I could talk down about it, but I have better things to do ;)

I don't care what they say! :) :) :)
Case proved devildog - you talk of american football as football.

I like American Football loads! I fell asleep in the 4th though for the SuperBowl! Americans do call if 'football' and what we call 'football' 'soccer'. Nothing wrong with that!
Ive got into american football after watching the superbowl, ive already gone and got a full size ball, played for a good few hours yesterday with a couple of mates (no padding for us ;) ). I want to choose a team but i think im gonna wait till the new season to actually make my mind up about who i like.
I was like many other who didnt get the game or rules at all, but now i really enjoy it, its worth watching. Need to cough up and buy madden 06 for my 360 now.

Madden games are excellent! Buying a fullsize ball and playing with mates isn't quite the same! Playing in a team is pretty similar!
