My boot up is getting very slow recently and I'm wondering what to look at next. I'm running windows xp pro, all drivers up to date there's no viruses, spyware etc and I've disabled unneeded start up services. I've also defragged HDD and got rid of all temp files and superfluous software. I've also used ashampoos winoptimiser to clean up the registry.

sounds like a hang , probably network , or it can be agp i have found.

Check you network is ok , remove any netservices you dont need ie file and print etc , upnp.run reg clean , and remove ms messenger and if possible office/ then check again.

remove all but recent restore point
