give us a blank cheque and we`ll build it :)

If I had the cash I would, but then I am totally and utterly nuts, :)

Hang on I have found a way to make it more extreme! Remove the VideoLogic Sirocco Pro speakers and replace them with...

TAGMcLaren T32R DAB Tuner
TAGMcLaren AV32R THX Surround EX Plus (Dolby Pro Logic II)
TAGMcLaren Amplifier 100x5R
TAGMcLaren Proteus F1 Centre Speaker blue
4x TAGMcLaren F1 Left/Right Speakers blue

That would make it stupidly expensive, but never mind, :)

and what about the 50" plasma screen???
two of em even? run them on dualhead :)

JADS

The 50" Plasmas have a lower resolution and are older screens than that 42" one. And the Elsa card cannot support 2 of them, no PCI gfx card (well none that offer reasonable gfx performance). So that is the most extreme I can go, :)

I'll have one of those if we win the lottery <g>.

Wouldn't change anything?

Well I am not doing anything this summer. My speciality is putting together components and making them work optimally together. I seem to spend ages inside my own computer with a screwdriver...

Now got it working damn fast.

Oh and I'm a problem solver. Spent 7 hours trying to get my AGP ATI card to communicate with the AGP slot it was plugged into.

After checking the BIOS, the connections, the card, the slot I was a bit baffled. I screwed it in really tightly and then smacked it hard and low and behold it worked, :D

oh sorry i was just joking :) it`s going to be a while before we`re looking at employing anyone in the shop, but the forum is the first place we would advertise if there was a vacancy..

Just throw in a T3 instead :)

JADS

Why not T4?

Mind you if I had that much cash I would set up a few systems. I would have a main server, that box and a style system for playing DVD movies. Plus a few others for crunching things like SETI, :) Hooking them all into a star layout gigabit ethernet, with the main server acting as a gateway to the internet.

Oh and they would be all tricked out by Kustom, :)

I liked that last line :)

You could employ me in the summer as your slave :-p. 99.999% of the money you gave me for working would be used to buy pc bits from Kustom :o).

Well I haven't run across many companies that say "give us a blank check and we'll build it", most have one supplier and you have to stick to what they can get.

Someone wants to work for you really badly by the looks of it, :) Maybe you should employ him as a teaboy or something? ;)

And the server would have to be built on this chassis

Big Case (http://www.baber.com/baber/products/mpe_ft32.htm)

http://www.baber.com/baber/gifs/mpe_ft32_front.jpg

Fitted with 8 550Enermax PSUs and 30 Quantum Atlas 10K III drives in RAID 10 array (giving just over 1TB of secure storage), :)!

JADS

Problem being that it isn't a PC... So you can't run the apps you would want to on it, ;)!
