View Full Version : Club 3d and Geforce cards
Hello Mr Club 3D. im going to be building a SLI setup next months and was wondering about the fans on the 7800GT, i have heard 1000s of people complain about the sound of the fans when they are playing games. i am planning on using a 3rd party cooler. but i wondered what kind of warranty (if any) i will have if i install a 3rd part cooler. or is club 3d planning on making a card with a pre fitted 3rd party cooler?
anyway, thanks for your time!
Hi [M]uuhh
with Club 3D we are the only company I know of that will warrant a card that has had the cooler removed, all we ask is that you keep the original cooler in case of a warranty claim, and if you need to return please put the original cooler back on the card.
It is only when there is physical damage to the card or components that we cannot warrant a return.
Hope this helps.

Gary this helps me a Huge amount!, thank you.
I have gone through 5 faulty ATI cards. And at one time i represented 50% of kustoms video card returns. ( i haven’t installed a custom fan on them). so i am extremely unlucky. In fact, the x800 im running in my shuttle has a faulty fan. thats how unlucky i am. So im glad to hear ill be covered if my luck follows me when i move back to the NVIDIA cards.

One more question though, Do the Nvidia cards have the same fan power management as the ATI cards, that resulted in the annoying clicking sound from the fans? i believe it was the LM63 fan controller in the X800s that caused this annoying noise.
depends on what card you buy, our X800xl has a different fan from the others, temp controlled copper based with strobe LED :)
the GT is quieter than the GTX fan, both companies use different tech for the different cards so no Nvidia will not have the same controller as ATI on their cards.
Thanks

You just got yourself a sale when I get some more money :)
yea i think i'll move over to Club3d.. i nearly always have to move from stock cooling.. thats some heller piece of mind there!!!
on a side note Muuuh, with rivatuner any fans can be tweaked to acceptable levels VERY easily..
for example default its about 43% speed (just above the annoying pitch) once windows realises the card is there. but rivatuner now downs that to 25% and is HAPPILY idling still cool :) and it bumps it up to whatever % i want when i start up anything 3d :D so the cards are still nice n cool
so even if u dont get aftermarket coolers :) it's still changeable just to let ya know
Hi,
Just wondering the what are the differences between the NIVDIA club 3D, BFG, XFX etc ? In terms of gaming quality...

Quality: depends entirely on settings.
however, performance depends on the core and memory speeds, BFG and XFX cards have slightly higher speeds so they can get slightly better framerates, but cost more and are unreliable compared to cards running at stock
