Racial Riots in Cronulla (Australia)

This week riots have started in Cronulla because of racial problems with Lebonese, people are going down the street and bashing up people of lebonese appearence and are going through streets smashing cars up and other things.

The riots have started up in Sydney again, and now the riots are speading up to the Gold Coast which is in another state. I really think that this sucks because if it gets any worse, other continents like the UK and US might start sending Australians out of their countries because they would start to think that Australians are racist.Text messages have started circling around as well saying things about the Lebonese

Has anyone else heard about this or got a different point of view to me?

Not quite sure how you make the connection between this and expulsion of ex-pats from UK and US. That'll never happen.

I've been told of it by a mate on MSN. He says that they just go up to the asain/pakistani people and kick the crap outta them. He says there are cars full of people that are ready to fight.

Hang on, in the UK 3 arrests are a quiet Saturday night for the bobbies in your average town. Are you sure that this isn't being blown out of all proportion?

Cars full of people ready for a fight? That's unheard of in Manchester, Liverpool, Hull, Birmingham, London, Plymouth, Newcastle, Edinburgh etc etc etc etc. :rolleyes:

I ended up with three in custody from a domestic a couple of weeks ago, three from a riot is a poor show!

From people I talk to oz is pretty much a laid back place , in fact they have said to me about moving there....but then again perhaps thats just to get me away from here.

replace Asian/Pakistani with Rangers/Celtic and you have Glasgow after an old firm match, car and street loads of morons about looking for trouble

There have been people marching down the streets protesting about racism. There is about 2000 police there each day checking cars and patrolling train stations and sending people back on the train if they look suspicious, which is quite stupid.
