Gaming and the human psyche

Right,

Am I the only one here who does this when playing scary games. Playing FEAR is pretty tense at times but for some reason I feel less on edge when there is another alied character in the game with me, even if that character is human controlled. It's like I'm not alone playing the game even though that person is obviously just another A.I character.

I felt the same playing HL2!

It just shows you 'get' into games. Blocking everything else outta the way. I get like that.... sometimes.

I do that from time to time, so only a little :p
I far enjoy games when there are other charachters who work with you, even if they're AI. Thats why Doom and FarCry could have been better.

I have done that before, I feel alot safer in COD for instance than I did in Doom3 or FEAR.
