Just ordered my copy.
I know it's a blatent cash grab on the part of EA but I love the series and can't wait to see how it plays.
Anyone got a copy yet?

It's pretty fun, climing up walls and using zip wires etc
Other than that it's pretty much the same as BF2 the vehicals arn't much different.
But it's a good laugh.

I've decieded to boycott EA's battlefield for now. I can't stand how they release something just to get it out and it is so buggy that a patch is needed almost immediatly.

and just incase u hadn't notice NEARLY EVERY DAMN GAME OUT is patched almost immediately after release nowadays.. they can't always account for every eventuality ya know..
and that broke my 1337 posts.. which sucks..
Quite a lot are boycotting, on planetbattlefield and official Ea forums, i really think they will notice a sales loss and i think it will make a difference tbh.
Nice sentiment but I thouroughly enjoy BF2 despite it's obvious flaws. Subs right though. Not many games are released without bugs and that now includes console games with the advent of Xbox live. You can always buy games a year late when it's been patched to b*ggery.

I know that, I just don't feel right in giving money to EA for a game that has been notorious for being one of the most buggy ones out there.
most of the people that are saying they will not buy it will end up buying it once there friends have it and more servers are running it.

I'll be buying it tomorrow on the way home from Uni. Then playing in the fine server that is 50k.

I can't play it online :( due to the uni firewalls/network!
My room-mate loves it, but it gets repeatitive after having such limited (small) maps for single player.

yeh its an ok expansion but i find myself just using the new unlocks on the orginal maps becuse there much more fun, the zip lines i was excited about but alot of the time anywhere wroth ziplineing off cant be done its just blocked, so whats the point. Personnalt the old maps are better i think dont get me wrong though there are some nice additions.
Hmmm. I got my copy yesterday... Too be honest I'm pretty unimpressed! I'm glad I have a copy so I can use the stuff but this should have been a free mod and not an expansion pack. There's just not enough content to warrent paying out almost 1/2 again what the original game cost.
was really looking forward to this game but ive went back to playing reg bf2.
50klicks main server has reverted back to bf2 also leaving the 32 ranked for special forces.
Well, I didn't think I would like it much tbh, but loving it a lot :) The indoor flag points are ace, had some awesome battles, esp on the warlord map :). When you get a good squad going I find it much better than BF as you can completly move across a map like a wave of death, as there's less amrour/bomber/chopper raping going on :). There's not one map where I'm like 'ohh gawd not this damn map' no trekking miles to points like in BF2 cause smacktards have stolen all the rides, and they're all new maps, so muc fun! Ziplining your whole squad right onto a point and then taking it by force is very satisfying! As is Ziplining your squad out of artilley!
I'm finding it pretty dang fun. The new weapon unlocks are nice too <hugs f2000>

I think I'm giving this one a miss too, I'm behind uni firewalls anyway but even when I'm home I think I'm gonna stick to BF2.
Should've just given us an expansion pack with a few more maps, vehicles and weapon unlocks and left it at that I think. If I want to play CS/R6 style game I'll play CS/R6.
I'm sure its a bit different to them though. Oh well, I guess I'll stick to regular BF2 and RTCW for now.
The other day I had my first good game with BF2:SF.. Was really getting into it, easily on for a gold medal and... Crash to desktop!

i've only played the demo. :o but it was worth the huge download. i like the driveing. fun. looking foward to getting it on my b day with new hardware. :D
tim if u had re-connected to the server u were on u'd still have the points

aaaaaahhhh just had a lush game, I only just realised that the mechanic is pretty damn good with his shotgun :D

Sub: Ah. Cheers, didn't know that. Too be honest, I didn't know what server I was on anyway or I'd have had a go at re-joining. BF2:SF seemed a little unstable but I pumped up the juice to my RAM and I've not had a crash since then. Strange cos it's only that game that seems to have a problem but then OC'ing is always a little hit n' miss.
Actually I have to say... Been playing it quite a bit recently and do quite like it. The maps are ace, really well balanced and the action seems somewhat more intense than BF2. Just played commander on Warlord which was the most intense 30 mins of gaming I've had in a long time.... So ok, I'll give EA some credit!
finding some gud sniper spots on the night maps with the new kits is fantastic :) take someone with flashbangs or ammo with you and you have access to pretty much anywhere u can think of for some good flanking sniper positions :D it's blood fantastic once you really get into it :D

I can't find any info on the new unlocks... You used to get one unlock per promotion which meant that by the time you got to the top rank you'd have unlocked all the new weapons. BF2:SF introduces several new weapons you can unlock but there doesn't appear to have been an increase in the number of unlocks themselves. Does this mean you can't unlock all the weapons now??
yea when u get a new unlock u get an sf one too
u need 50k points for all unlocks
Just found a list on totalbf2... Think I know what's going on now. I only have 1800 GP so I doubt I'll ever get more than two more level up's. That's four unlocks so better use them wisely.

I was right, EA have ****** up! figures :rolleyes:
instead of the usual 3500 servers there's 73.....all with extremely high pings!

that f2000 is WAAAY overpowered.. that thing is insanely accurate and takes litterally 2 shots for some kills.. it's NUTS.. but ace when u've got it and ur the only mofo with em on a bf2 server.. not to mention the SCAR-L and G36E now that's a piece of kit
Can someone please explain something to me cos I think I'm being thick. How can I use the F2000 in BF2? I have unlocked the G3 already but don't have an option to unlock the F2000. I only appear to be able to use it as a weapon when playing SAS on SF. I've gone to the kit section but there's no reference to it anywhere other than as a standard kit for SAS??
The only unlocks that appear for Assult are G3 and Flashbangs?? Where is the F2000?

I think Special Forces is alot harder than BF2, does anyone else think this? :confused: Or is it just me?
Depends what your speciality is. If you rely heavily on aircraft then SF is going to be harder. In BF2 I'm mainly a chopper/plane pilot but in SF I almost always try to play commander as a support armor role. I actually think once you get used to it, SF is easier cos there's less chance or getting continually killed by some looping bomber pilot which is v frustrating. If you're finding it harder you need to practice your close combat skills a little possibly.

I am mostly a sniper and / or a medic. But i do change from map to map, i haven't really had a long time to try out SF but just found it a little difficult. I will get some practice in :cool:
the F2000 isn't a flashbang lol
you need to play sf for a few hours , get some good point scoring rounds in, lots of kills, to let it realise you've got (how many points?) then when u next start it up it'll give u the unlock options, u unlock the weapons for use ONLY in BF2 u can't use the unlocks in sf cuz it unbalances the weapons in the maps, u can use the normal unlocks in sf, but not the spanky new sas and seal weapons.. only in bf2 :)
hope this helps.. just go on sf for a few hours and get loads of nice kills in on iron gator

I got this the other day and ive only had a qucik shot of it, althought im not fond of dark maps, not sure why i just dont like them, but i liked some of the other maps tho, one other thing that bothers me is the loading times, seems to take ages to get on :mad:
I love this game, i do not own it myself as my current computer is bowel explodingly bad, but i have played it many times at my friends house.
When i finish building my pc it is the first game that i will purchase.
I have both now and am really getting into it :D
I love being a sniper but I also enjoy getting on the quads and running ppl over :D
well i was enjoying playing it till my computer strangely died for some reason....!!!
I am upgrading my pooter at the mom. If all goes well i should be on tonight :D
