GTA san andreas (PC)

i got it today and installed it the grapichs are far better that the ps2
more to the point though have a problem with it everything works exept the cars engines noise isnt theere at all ive tred reinstalling it and reinstalling direct x which i know works on my pc becuse bf2 runs fine and it uses the same version

can anyone help its really anoying with no engine noise

There are sound issues with the PC version of GTA:SA, you just can't help it as far as I'm aware! On mine, the radio music sometimes goes really quiet for no reason then jumps back up again a few seconds later. Also I get some strange engine noises - like I get the motorbike sounds when I'm in a sports car (but this ones rare with mine). I'm not sure if there's a patch out because I haven't really bothered to look, I can live with mine!

I've been lucky in the fact I don't get any sound issues but people have been having loads of probs on the PC game.. The worst thing is that the PC versions of GTA games are always released with almost no support at all. I can only assume that post PS2 release they only devote a very small time period to conversions because they are always sloppy with very poor updates and patching. They make so much cash on the PS2 release and they know people will buy the Xbox and PC versions based solely on that hype.

Maybe I'm unfairly maligning rockstar but this is how I've found it to be. The game is awesome but expect a few glitches that you simply can't resolve.

thats a shame my m8 tried it on his laptop, he has to run it on the very lowest settings (on bord gfx) i run on the very high settings and he has no trouble with the sound

is it something to do with direct x by any chance

i have sound probs too,but heres a couple sites that i'll think will help you. (you will need an image ebitor first.(my personal favorites) mostly car mods, but if you have any questions ask me, just pm me, im on the net most of the time.

tim its im sad 2 say on board but its 7.1 surrundsound so pretty good :)

then unzip to desktop, then open
C: drive, then program files, then rockstar games, GTA San Andreas,
then minimise the page creat a new folder, open page back up
and right click on eax.dll, cut and open new folder and paste it,
then go to desktop and right click on eax.dll (the new one)
and cut and paste it in gta san andreas.
and try the game out, let me know if theres any probs. :D
