hi,
i sell a shareware on my website,
and each time i recieve a payement, i send to the customer
by email a licence file.
This time i got many problems.
Each times i was sending an email to the customer ,
i was recieving a delivery failure notification from my hotmail box.
It is a bit weird to have a verified paypal account associated to a mail
that doesn't work, so i've assumed there was something wrong with my mail.
I'm wondering if it isn't because of a too strong anti-spam filter,
and i've made many attemps to send the mail each times with changing a parameter.
Perhaps a mistake i've made: i used the field BCC, to resend the mail to myself (a kind of verification)
I got no error without using that field.
Also i've renounced to add an attachement.
And to mention name of my product , because terms i've choosed for its name might be considered as spam (a mistake, when naming my product)

What do you think about the reasons of all the delivery failure i got ?
Although i got no error the last time, i hope the guy will recieve his mail...

hi triggerHappy (nice name)
yes i've waited the bar to load , since it is quick (i have dsl connection)
finally i always got a mail delivery failure.
However i tried with an other mail box, (not hotmail)
and i didn't have any failure message.
But i guess it isn't a garantee, is it ?
Especially i asked the guy to send me a confirmation which I didn't have....
I can't understand that a guy could have a verified Paypal account with an email that doesn't exit.
I might be forced to make a refund before i have problems with that guy...

let me just make sure ive got this correct

you try sending to an address from hotmail but it fails
you try sending to same address from another mail account (not hotmail) and it succeeds?

if thats the case then it maybe that the recipient blocks hotmail emails for some reason.

what is the delivery failed message you get?
might give you some reason why it failed

Hi,
each time i've recieved a minute after the post the error message:
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipients failed.
--> "email of the guy"
--> content

But today i've recieved an email from the guy saying he recieved my mail...
so perhaps it's a "fake" error from hotmail...
He didn't give precision about mail he recieved....
Anyway, i've already made a refound (lost 30$) , since i don't like to loose my time with payement problems...

Its probably a SPAM script that generates fake bounce messages to make auto spammer programs think that the address is not active. As hotmail address are used A LOT for spam then its probably tagging the hotmail as the SPAM and the other as not.

Thanks for the information. Is this kind of script often used ?
And now, how do i know that a message has really been sent ?
Does it means that i shouldn't use an hotmail adress ?
