Well, our clan ranked server is around £300 for 3 months as far as i know, ea stats support is quite expensive.

I'd defs be willing to pay towards starting a BF2 clan.. What do others think about this?

How much does EA stats cost? That sounds very expensive, I'd want a dedicated box for that kind of money.

i dont think they're dedicated boxes but most of the 85.236.101 servers are multiplay.. and there are ALOT of them... they must have a shell load of boxes with one hell of a connection to run all those 64 player ones, the reason it's so expensive is that they have to buy a license from EA, it's basically to stop your average joe cheating...

Yeah, we have a multiplay server, for stats support you have to hire one off a certified EA seller afaik, you can't just run off your own box

well no, cuz it stops people just making a server and getting 10,000,000 points in a week from point whoring, getting all badges, unlocks and everything unfairly and using them within a week of the game being released instead of slow-feeding them like the system does now, except that night some guy hacked it and EVERYONE got all the unlocks.. kinda ruined the idea of earning it then...

Guys it wont be ranked, but we've already got a server we can use for this, just waiting to get the firewall rules changed.

This is kinda off topic..... but i can't get any server's to pop up when i put the ip in :(

Now i've tried using 'custom pcs' official server and it wont connect... this is what i'm putting in:

IP: xx.xxx.xx.xx
Port: 16567
Password: ******

Dw i'm not actually using 'X's :) but that wont connect. i deffinately have the numbers right so it must be that i'm not setting it up right perhaps?

In the magasin it says its...:

xx.xxx.xx.xx:16567

but i thought the '16567' was the port :confused:

Sorry for the lil inturruption to this thread, i just didnt think it would be worthwhile starting a new thread for this 1 lil problem that is probably stupidity.

Just got this game myself and I've been playing with 7DR and XDC and I'm slowly becoming hooked. Still prefer my CS:Source and DOD:Source, but if kustom have a server I'll be happy to pay and play and would be there most days (if the missue lets me :( )
