Hi

Does anyone else on here have the problems with the guide data being lost at frequent intervals (my current record is 4 times in one day, but its usually only once a day) when you use MCE2005 and freeview?

When i leave the media centre on for a while it will eventually tell me it has found new recording conflicts, despite me having long since stopped it having net access, then when i go to the guide to check it will tell me all channels have been removed. A full channel re-scan is the only fix, or what i do now is keep a back up of the guide data and copy it back into the right place.

This is really annoying as the media centre will not record when the guide is gone so you miss things, i have not successfully managed a night of programming for weeks!

I know Kustom sell media centres similar to mine and was wondering if they had had any problems like this? MS are useless for support telling me to go to my retailer, which is me!

Cheers
Matt

Hiya,

I have that problem occasionally. Seems to be when I truely power down the system (ie. plug outta wall!) or change the tuner from one USB to another!

Well mine happens all the time for no obvious reason. I've completely blocked the computer from the interent and it still things its getting new data!!

When it deletes the data the log files are full of messages about being unable to open the database but i think its more likely to be a corrupt database. Over on XPMCE.com forums there are plenty of other people with this problem, and ive posted all over the web trying to find a solution. It seems to affect most people with freeview to some extent

Not here it dont, i dont suffer this problem as i get the data via another feed,

why dont you take a vist to the greenbutton (http://www.thegreenbutton.com/) and look at some of the addons they have, you may find yourself wanting some. Also check out the links to other mce sites.

Yeah ive been on greenbutton for a while, and i use xpmce.com as well, both really useful for info and plugins.

Rchiileea, can i ask where you get your data from or how you go about it differently?

This thread (http://www.xpmce.com/forum/to-all-those-in-the-uk-with-a-working-freeview-guide-vt95811.html) is one i started on xpmce where people have posted there issues with the guide, nice to know im not the only one at least!
