hey guys, ive got a TomTom GO 300, which has bluetooth connectivity, but doesnt have the capability to act as a hands free kit like the 500 and 700 versions do. im guessing this is only limited by software? is there any way to get the firmware from the tomtom 500 onto the 300 so it thinks it is a 500? if that makes sense, because i suppose all the hardware you need is there, the bluetooth technology, and the microphone built into the docking cradle is there? Ive searched on the net a couple of times but cant find anything like this.

Hopefully someone will be able to answer this question, as it would be great if i could use the hands free function!

cheers

Afaik its more than just a software issue its likley to be a firmware issue as well and I dont know if its possible to flash the firmware on these.

Also the 500,700 models have larger hard drives so could be wired differently inside.

the TomTom 500 doesn't have a hard drive... it still uses memory cards for data etc...

the TomTom 700 does have a 2.5gb HDD, so the device doesn't need any memory card to run out the box.
