Yeah, its a good looking game, and the movement/gameplay has been kept from the original which is great.
Really looking forward to release and a bit of Multiplayer action.

Plays nicely at at 1280 x 1024 (50 FPS minimum) with all the pretty bits turned on for me (A64, X800). There is also a DX7 mode for aiding performance on older PC's.

I have 2 gig, but I am sure it will run with a gig.
considering the quoted minimums 1gb should be ample

Yeah... for 5 - 10 minutes
I couldn't believe I'd finished it when I did! A 660+MB download, for 5 - 10 minutes of play, was/is majorly disappointing :(
same things as the F.E.A.R. demo, i think it's basically because you would have to run the full game engine, and the maps, characters, models and such are such a small part now compared to what the in itself runs on. example, when you "buy" something like css on steam, it says you need to download about 2gb, but it starts at 80% done or something, because 80% of the file size is already there, which is the HL2 Engine..
and fear being fear, is a big engine, from what i hear of COD2 i imagine it's pretty much the same... :( worse for us, but, if you think about it they will want to show off as much of the quality of the game as possible so as to draw people into buying it, as aposed to a 20~60 minutes of "this new engine is worse than the old quake engine" if you see what i mean.. short, sharpe, to the point, best they can kick out in x amount of time to draw people like us in. like the old hl2 video's for example...
anywho it's late i'm tired and Lost has me all excited lol
Well i can't moan about the demo :) The first game was outstanding and this demo has shown a few far better engine and has made me take a decision to preorder it. Although i'm not sure whether i should go for the xbox 360 version or the pc version

Actualy it's the other way around, as far as I know. The engine is all coding, lots of numbers and text which even with a huge amount of, it doesn't take up that much space. One area that is probably growing a lot is the amount of animation information needed, it's still only giving the pc some co-ordinates and a time scale though.
It's the increasingly detailed models, higher resolution textures and more and more audio and video files being used that pushes up the file size. It's also why games like BF2 benifit from 2gigs of RAM, so many textures and models need to be held in memory for quick access.
I never played the original game but I'm very impressed by the demo. It's a little scripted and limiting in where you can go but the fighting is nice and intense with bullets flying everywhere and guns feeling reasonably realistic. Graphics are lovely (if a little hard on fps) and there's decent squad movement and good audio.
I'll have to put this on the to buy list, just after FEAR. (maybe play it when it's too dark and lonely to play FEAR :o )
