I'll be keeping it in my shed. I'll let it out twice a day for a walk and a munch of the grass of course.

Yeh we know why you want to keep it in the shed dont we,with a copy of farmers weekly and a milk crate to stand on :D

I wounder if G7 will have the skiping problem the MX1000 has.

Certainly the G5 doesnt have any "skipping", and the MX1000 doesn't either. Of course, if you lift the mouse off the mat and still expect it to work then that's chancing it.

The MX1000 i owned had a skiping problem,so i whent back to a corded mouse,i dont want to spend the sort of money for this mouse if it does the same.

I never understood the skipping thing, i mean yea if i lift my MX1000 off the mat then back down quickly it doesnt pick up straight away but really what the big deal? Get a mouse mat that fits your mouse! MX1000 obviously wasn't designed to be lifted hense the problem and weight

I read a review on THG that says it doesn't suffer from the same problem and the G7 is a lot better than the MX-1000 :)

You might be better emailing the sales team Lomax (sales@kustompcs.co.uk) and asking to be notified when they get them in stock ;)

Hi Fireblade

I have spoken with them and they are e-mailing me when they are in but was just curious if they new when they were expecting them. This old mouse I am using is really ticking me off, I'm also very impatient :o , and a well known retailer already has them in but I want to give my business to Kustom and not some corporate monkeys. :D

Cheers alot

I did notice that another retailer appears to have stock, but as of yet they've not appeared through our distributors, it's the same scenario with the Keyboards.

Guess we'll just have to wait a little while longer. Can I suggest a good book to entertain you for a few days?

Can anyone suggest a book good enough to entertain us while we wait for the G7? :D

I think 'Logistics for beginners' would be a good bet.

I wish some of the folk involved in the distribution chain would take a thumb through it.

No news on the G7s yet, sorry. :(

I have one of these mice and they are top quality product, been able to adjust the mouse on the fly is cool and been able to hot swap the battery pack is a god send. No longer will I have to stop my gaming because the batterys are dead.

Ye I have one also was a present.

Is a bit weird though because it didn't work on my Icemat II and then it did lol

I was wanting a G5 at first because it matches my setup of Black & Silver. However ended up with G7, which I think Kustom should put on the site that it is in fact a dark bottle green not a very light aqua green. I was rather pleased with the fact it was darker.

We found this over the weekend at the i26 LAN - not all mice and mats seem to work together.

Watch this space - I'm going to organise a mouse / mouse mat compatability table so that we can confirm suitablity of all the models in our range.

I got the G7 mouse recently also and would definatly reccomend it. Does the green bit around the battery charger light up on yours? Mine doesn't :( would look really good if it did!

TheFallenAngel

No its not meant to light up.

I don't have a G7 but from what I've heard, I disagree that it's better than the MX1000. The G7 is probably better for gaming due to button placement, weight and no skipping when you lift it up, but for everyday use I fail to see why one would upgrade from the sleek black MX1000 to that eyesore. ;)

The fact that they've abandoned the two, thumb-pressable 'Back/Forward' buttons is also a cause for concern, as I use those two regularly. A design decision that will be kept for future mice?

Oh, and two power packs? What's the point? Unless you're going to be using the mouse for dozens of hours straight, by dropping it in the recharger when you're not using it the MX1000 should always be powered up and ready to go. Admittedly, it does sound fun to slot those packs in the mouse and I'm sure they'd be handy for those times I forget to charge my MX1000, but it seems more of a gimmick than a true selling point.
