Having just dusted off (quite literally) my copy of Worms Armageddon, I'm getting back into the Worms thing again and just ordered myself a copy of Worms 4 after playing the demo.
Anyone else out there still beating the poor annelids? It's great! Like Lemmings with hardware. :D

i remeber buying the original Worms (still have it in a box somplace) that game was so awsome at the time! i dont like the new cartoon/3d version of it though.
Yeah... Worms is much better in its slightly 2D, slightly 3D form (i.e Armageddon/World party).... i don't like it in full 3D, it doesnt work as well.
I still think the original on the Amiga cant be beaten!
Not tried Any of the newer ones though, really should grab a demo and give one a whirl for old times sake.

Big coincidence - I just bought World Party again, but for some reason it won't work :(
It's one of those budget companies that sell the games for £5, but I'm pretty miffed since I was looking forward to playing it again.
The original Worms was amazing, Worms 2 was always a bit patchy with my hardware so I never got into it as much. The newer ones will never beat the first one in my opinion.

I had exactly the same problem with Armageddon when I dug it out, tried everything to get it to work and couldn't.
Turns out it needs patching, THEN updating to get it to run (I know, weird eh?), maybe the same is true for World Party? Have you checked the Team 17 website for patches & updates?

I love you! It worked! Yaay! :D
I really should've thought of that before
For me Worms: Armageddon was the pinnacle of the series. The follow up Worms World Party just simply wasn't as good. I don't think of the 3D incarnations as being true worms games. Worms was about fun, skillful and precise 2D gameplay, balanced to perfection, while still remaining fun. This seems to have been forgotten in the translation to 3D.

the first was always the best! back in the good old days lol!

Well I have to say that I'm liking Worms 4, but I also have to admit to not liking the 3D version much when I saw it on TV/read reviews etc etc.
I'd say worms 4 retains much of the fun of the latter 2D versions (Worms 2, Armageddon) but with pretty lush cartoony 3D environments, it's no F.E.A.R. when it comes to graphics, but then, would you REALLY want to see realistic environments & worms? Kinda takes the fun away. lol
After one day of play I finished the Tutorial missions, all the non-deathmatch challenges, 5 of the deathmatch challenges and am currently on mission 11 of 25 in the story mode, all with a time faster than the Team 17 time your supposed to beat to unlock extra's.
So, doesn't look like this game is for the long hall as far as story goes, but then the best part about worms, any of em, is playing against another person, and after unlocking all the extras I'm pretty sure that's gonna be a hoot!

I got really bored with 3D, it made Worms seem very unfamiliar. I still love the first one I ever had, Worms United: Reinforcements. But it was certainly a shock to play that again having been on 2 for so long! Far harder! :D

The first worms was deffinately the best out of the whole series, but then again thats how it is with nearly all games in series. I still remember the day i got it :D played non stop. As for worms 2 i remeber playing games with friends where we made forts out of girders before we'd start to slaughter one another, lol. Great times!
Took worms to uni with me (purely accidental as it was on one of my randomly burnt cds) and have the whole flat of five of us playing it. Seriously good laugh, even more fun when we come in after a night at the union or Fat Sams and sit and try and play each other in the same room.
Thinking about clubbing in and buying the new worms, but shall have to see...

I bought it for my son (even though he's 24, working, and can afford to pay for such luxuries himself  :D ), and it looks like good fun
It's available for just £15 from Play (http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=search&searchtype=PC&searchstring=Worms+4&page=search&Go.x=0&Go.y=0) btw! Even you poor uni students could afford £3 each methinks :p
BTW Moshi... I reckon you'll have to change the text colour in your sig - or at least make it bolder? It's barely visible on my laptop!
