Frankly the score flattered England, yet the FA still won't sack the Swede.
Congrats NI and a fantastic result for the Scots too! :)
It was a complete farce.
Sven is playing players on reputation and not on form.
Congratulations to Northern Ireland, they deserved the win.
Wrighty looked well peed off

My mates will be annoyed to put it politely and my phyics teachers will have irish ties on just to annoy england supports. (The phyics teachers are Irish)

Sorry, now what happened?
Lol, didn't watch it, but quite a few people were expecting a 1-0 win to NI. Sven has been one of the better managers of recent times. It is amazing how a whole nation (or loads of people) can change their attitude to one man so quickly! - Is it really fair?
England have talent, they just need to apply themselves.

what was the England score again? been too busy having a drink after the Scotland game to care about England :D:D
I was laughing at the commentary on Radio Scotland when the Norse got a goal disallowed it was all doom and gloom then your man scores and it like World come here we come :) I hope they do but i doubt they will qualify but at least thats about three games on the trot where they have played fine better than under Bertie bomshell
Are you drunk by any chance pumpman? Either that or I ain't reading that right at this hour!
I am shocked - I was that expectant of a boring 1-0 'gritty' England win that I didn't even watch. I was astounded when I turned ovr to see the last 10 mins! My poor wife (an English exile in NI)!!!
PS How about Ferguson for England? :p

All we Englishmen need now is for the cricketers to fook things up in the Ashes; that would make the Jocks happier still no doubt. :D [for what good it'll do them]
:D Being Welsh it is always a pleasure to see england lose!!!!! :D
Did ya hear the commentary last night?
THey were talking about sven. He doesnt do the training, no motivational talks. Basically he choses the team

The strange thing is though:
GOOD RESULT - Players are great, amazing blah blah blah......
BAD RESULT - Sack the Coach, he must be rubbish...
Never mind the fact that two world-class strikers couldnt stick it past a non-premiership goalkeeper after 90mins.
Radio one interviewed an Auzzie last night. He was comenting about the cricket and why us Brits take it all so seriously.
His closing statement was classic...something on the lines of
Auzzie one: "We lost the cricket"
Auzzie 2 "Oh..... Well lets hit the beach"
Lighten up dudes!

THing is though ITs been a feeling for a long time that sven needs to go.

It's been a loooooooong time since a good result.
aye.
I cant remember the last time I got exited about an england performance.
We have won matches but we havent looked convincing for a long time
I still think that we would have won the last Euros if we had a manager (not a bloody coach) who knew what he was doing and was capable of making match winning substitutions. Mr Burns tries to please the big players far too much, there are times when he will need to drop one of Rooney, Beckham, Lampard Gerrard and Owen but he just doesn't have the balls to do it.
The England team looks to have lost it's spirit, but Sven is incapable of motivating the players. Despite all the scandal he's caused, there is no chance of him being sacked because the FA can't afford to pay him off.

The best manager England have ever had in my opinion was Alf Ramsey, and the next two were Hoddle and Venables.
Does anyone know offhand if N Ireland.Scotland or Wales have had [or would even consider] a foreign manager/coach?

Does the name Vogts mean anything??? :p
Foreign managers can work. Just look at Jack Charlton and the Republic of Ireland team of Italia '90. They played every single minute of every match as if it was their last and, IIRC, made the quarter-finals.
Right now I would love to see an England v Scotland game... just to see if we could run the ******* into the ground :D
(no offence to any english people... I'm just passionate bout my country when they get something right :D)

Yeah Scotland are doin ok [for them] 2 wins in the last 8 is nearly as bad as England. Ah but, I hear you say, that was against class opposition; Moldova and Norway. :D
The big difference is that we are supposed to be potential world cup winners and we cant even outplay wales and northern island.
If we played the scots atm it wouldnt surprise me if we lost.
aye.

Munich? 5-1? That was the last time I remember seeing a convincing England performance.
Does the name Vogts mean anything??? :p
Oh dear god, that name will always haunt us lot ;).
It was great to see Scotland play like they should, we have a decent crop of players (not world class but not exactly bad either) but under Vogts they just didnt perform and the team was a mess. With Smith/Burns/McCoist in charge they are playing better and seem to have a bit of belief about them :).
Look at the Italy result, we were disappointed to draw with them, totally different mentality now. Under Vogts we would have been happy as long as we didnt get beat 6-0.
Oh and NI vs England, bit of a shocker but you just knew it was going to happen when the commentators said that NI hadnt beaten England in NI since the 1920's :D.
Aye I think the germany match was the last time I saw a confident england perforamance :(
The thing that upsets me most about things at the moment is sven doesnt seem to understand the way we feel.
Even though it was only a friendly the loss to australia a couple of years back was a painful moment
