Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone here playes 'Eve online'
I'm new to it but i find it so enjoyable, its one of those games where when i want to stop i just can't. Also its fast and easy to pick up and play when you already know how.
So far i'm using a poor transport ship because i lost my nice ship and it was uninsured :( yeh i know very silly.)

Just downloading it now. It looks sweet, I like games like this. I will post back and tell you what it is like when I get round to playing it :D.
Ok downloading now should have it soon downloading at 240kbs 29min left :) not that bad i guess ill report back then (hopes its as good as you say)

Hard luck about losing your ship, but if you forgot to insure it I can't help but smirk ;)
On a side note it is indeed a subscription-game, but subscribers have access to unlimited trial keys which allow you to play for 14-days without having to enter any credit card details. If anyone here wants one, send me a PM with your email address and I'll be happy to send you over a trial-key.

Yeh sorry i thought it mentioned it on the site, yeh well after i lost my ship i bought an iteron and i've been trading and now i have 2 million :D i know it isnt much but its alot for me.
And i'v insured it now and i'm about to buy a lush cruiser.
And to be honest i wouldn't mind paying for it because its just endless hours of fun, like my sig says 46 hrs this week :s i just cant stop!
i played it in beta, and was a high ranking member of a large corp after release. but the amount of time it takes to compleat the simplest of tasks for me was just to long and boring after you get over the WoW factor. (not traveling time) (note reprtative mining) (note: repetatve missions)

In a corp you dont have to always do missions you can work along side your friends to help mine, haul, defend miners, trade or go collect bounties. Loads to do
oh i dont doubt there is loads to do, eve has come a long way from its begginings. i think EVE is an awsome game. i just beleave its not for the casual gamer

I will give you a a trial key in a few days NEBULAR-X because i've only been on the trial myself but i am deffinately going to buy it so i should get a trial with it.

I have been playing it today.
Although it seems complicated at first. Plus the tutorial is really long, (I didn't complete it). I feel it will grow on me.
I think I just need to play it all night. :p

You're quite right there, but I couldn't manage to window it while afk mining and play PlanetSide without feeling the strain, but I'm sure a more powerful machine could manage it.
However since it has incredibly low system requirements it's perfectly reasonable to run afk mining runs on a laptop or low-power machine while you perform all your other activities on the main rig.

You're just very unlucky. Doesn't happen often, nor is it a problem limited to EVE. However since EVE only uses one server, when it does happen, it affects everyone, whereas in other games it's usually on a per-server basis (and, as it happens, usually happens alot more often over the board as well).
Most of the current problems are still from the aftermath of the launch of Cold War. Everything should settle down in a few weeks as everything on their end gets back to normal :)
i dicided to have another shot and broke out my original CD. i was trying it on my new shuttle. strangest thing though, when ,oving the camera around the eviroment seemed to warp as if i was looking into a long fnnel. very strange. almost remided me of the spirtes in CS 1.5. anyone else had this problem?

Not sure what you mean Muh, fiddled around with the video settings?
On the new features front don't forget that in the Kali expansion (sometime in the next year or so) they have planetary flight planned which will bring a whole new dimension to the game :)

Haz i'm glad your enjoying it :D if we get enough people off Kustom to play we should soo make a corperation , although i dont know how. Yeh Eve never really screws up there arnt any problems, i'v been stuck a few times in stations but apart from that its been fine.
How big is the download? Do you needa joystick to play? I might try it if you dont

I believe it's around half a gig. You don't "fly" your ship, as such, so a joystick is definately not needed.

yeh dload is 500mb (roughly) and your ship is in 3rd person and it moves automatically.
Oh, i thought it would be like freelancer - so it's more like point and click to attack type of thing? a la Guild Wars, etC?

Kind of, but a lot more detailed. Me and Haz have been playing it like non stop recently :D we think we're going insane.

No its a huge game, you can be a bounty hunter, a pirate, you can trade if you want. You can also own space stations and all sorts its huge.
I beta'ed for eve....got ages free...mwahahahhaha...
Its a great game, takes a while to work out whats going on etc....well worth a try. Even worked fine on my 56k
omg just gone back and read the rest of the post....gonna get the free trial...prep for an all night download...:(

Lol yay another person who's guna try :D, did ir really work on 56k? because i'm going to be using that for a few weeks and i wasnt sure if u should just set a long skill train
, but if it does thats cool.
yeah eve worked fine on my 56k..:D
used to even be able to play CS:S 120ping...but thanks to the stupid source update thats no more:(

Just started playing this today,found it all rather strange.I was expecting it to be like freelancer but bigger,the point and click thing is strange whilst your controlling a space ship and the shooting is weird,im still doing the tutorial though,ITS SOOOO LONG...
