hi

my pc is really messed up, i went away for 2 days and my mum turned my pc on to use net and didnt turn it off for 2 days, i ussualy turn it off every night since my pc has done silly things (hs fell of gfx, waterleaks etc lol)

anyway it only just works! .. it ussualy works for about 5 minuites then the graphics go all fuzzy, pc seems to operate normaly besides that (sound is fine etc) but all the monitors fuzz up (artifacts distortion whatever u call it) sometimes the monitors turn off too..

i think the graphics chip is nackered and over cooking itself or something as if you leave it an hour and turn it back on its fine for 10 mins or so.. like it is now..

please help, what could it be, what can i do to prevent it...

thanks

You could re-seat the GPU heatsink....and run your GPU at stock or less than stock speed. Maybe it isn't fried, just running really warm. It sounds like a dying graphics card to me.

running radeon 7000 pro dual vga at moment and i got 2 monitors running, its pretty sucky really but it does work, so its definatly my graphics card, i think its seriously nackered so well ill have to persuade my mum to buy me a new one ... parhelia from scan.co.uk is about £300 lol ... ebay about £120 :|
theres one on ebay for a PCI interface (long slots) could i use this? is it faster than AGP ? i have these long slots you see,
thanks.

funny this is..

the whole pc keep on resetting , im thinking theres gotta be something up with the power here, i mean the parhelia must be a power demanding beast with triple head etc,

firstly open up bios to see im only getting 4.27 on my 5v line and think arrrr whats up with that,

so have a quick look and my motherboard ATX connector has cooked all the 5v connectors... arrr got a screwdriver and grated out all the melted plastic, wired up a seperate PSU just for the motherboard, and jumped the other PSU green/black ..

its running, has been for like 5 mins now.. not bad, parhelia is back in too so got three screen goodness back..

luving it.. hope it dosent nack up !!

recomend me a PSU someone? preferably not too pricey, has to power my sig :) thankkss
